47 miles over the extended warranty
2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited V8 4x4
I guess I have no choice but to pay the $2,500. I thought my policy ended in April but turns out I was 47 miles over the extended warranty.
I quote from the policy person "we have to many customers, we do not need your business."
Just a little pissed but thats why you don't buy a Jeep

That blows man. How many miles do you have on it now?
I have a 99 Grand Cherokee LTD 4x4 V8 with Quadra-Drive. Just passed the 130k mark and it still runs great and everything works. I did recently swap out the front axle shafts, but they were pretty cheap and didn't take me too long to do.
Jeeps in general, and especially my year have the worst reliability ratings, but I guess I just got lucky with mine with almost no issues. And I've beat the shit out of that thing for the past 5 or so years..
I can't believe the rep said that to you...

I did...
It is an aftermarkert extended warranty sold at the time I bought the Jeep.
Scribesoft- good luck with yours and I hope nothing happens. Mine has been in and out of the shop since day 1. They have done about 13K worth of work under the warranty so I got my moneys worth but I honestly thought I was good until April. That is what hurts
Oh yeah when the oil pressure dropped all of the sudden I pulled over like 10 miles away from the dealership because I was thinking the towing was free. Well, it has always been covered by the warranty.

ha yea I have a jeep, it is in the shop right now lol what a suprise mine is an 97 though so a little different matter. I would suggest looking at other places than the dealer if it works out they won't replace it. Dealerships rape u in terms of money. My jeep was a littel over $100 and it had a leak in the transfer case, an oil seal leak and oil was getting into the coolent so they replaced something and flushed the coolent and did an oil change and fixed a problem with the brakes all for $100 something, aka the dealer is raping you

I've told that to a customer before. Granted the circumstances were different, I felt it was very appropriate. All in all however, there are probably better ways to communicate your point. Even in hindsight I would still have said the same thing.

That is bullshit! Aleinating a customer over 47 miles?
This is why I have had seven Acura cars. They never argue with me. In fact, Acura has warrantied several items on my cars (even when they were still in warranty), just because they were not satisified with the performance of the parts.
I took one of my GS-Rs' in one time for an oil change, which happend to take longer than normal. My car was still on the lift, and the wheels/tires were taken off of the car. For an oil change?
I asked the service advisor what was going on. He said that they were unhappy with the appearance of the clear coat on my wheels. So, I got $2,000 of new wheels put on my car at no cost.
The customer is always the king! You should go elsewhere for you next car purchase.

they don't want your business, take it to a local mechanic. they won't charge you your left nutsack for the work cause it sounds like there will be more labor costs than material.

I have never explored the fine print but I was always interested in pursuing a case where the miles had just run out on a warranty based on the fact odometers usually read high. If the policy covers this normality then it is a non-starter BUT if it does not, in reality the car has NOT travelled that 47 miles, actually significantly less...
