3M planning to acquire Meguiars

oh wow

http://www.leftlanenews.com/3m-plann...-meguiars.html

Conglomerate 3M announced yesterday its intention to acquire Meguiar’s, Inc., the more than 100-year-old family-run car care products business. Meguiar’s, which is based in Southern California, is notable for current president and CEO Barry Meguiar, who is a regular at vintage and new car show events across the world.

In a statement, 3M’s vice president of the company’s Automotive Aftermarket Division, Ian Hardgrove, implied that the colorful Barry Meguiar would continue to be part of the company.

Meguiar’s has become a staple of the car show scene and the company says it sponsors more than 10,000 car shows across the world despite being a small family-run business with 115 employees.

Damn, and I just bought $300 worth of car cleaning products.

Not that this has any bearing on that but just trying to make conversation.

Never really a fan of their products (besides their new ultimate detailing spray). 3M has great stuff.

meguiars makes great products, they just aren't "cool" to the "in crowd" all the time. There is no one out there that puts more R&D into their gera
