yeah the Z has different intake ports, more valve lift, diff ecu programming...other than being tuned differently they are pretty much identical...The real difference in the Z engine is its airflow due to the free flowing exhaust and oem cai.

sorry i like to hang on to the stock parts just in case...i am buying a polished injen soon...although mostly for looks. The stock intake is pretty damn good. Check out my350z.com's classifieds; may be some for sale in there. Maybe post a wanted ad?

I get the distinct impression that he doesn't care much for NOS. It has nothing to do with the car. I can understand that sentiment.

You can use 3ivx in place of Divx and it doesn't install all kinds of spyware:

I would take a day off work and make the drive up there just to see the look on the dealer's face when you brought the car to them and asked them to repair it.

Good question. New Cobra engines used to be about $6K; so I don't think it would be too far from that for a VQ35DE, if you bought it from the dealer (which you probably wouldn't want to do).

If you bought just the block from the dealer and then used aftermarket internals for everything else (forged pistons and rods, etc), it would be cheaper I think.

As I posted before, the owner of the car is a dealer. He didn't care that the engine blew because this car was a testbed to see how much the engine can take.

They are already in the process of rebuilding the engine with stronger internals to allow the car to break into the 10's

sorry to bring this back from the dead. but im curious..

isnt this typical if you are running high forced induction with stock internals such as non-forged pistons?
