muffler maybe? my car is making a weird noise right now when i step on the gas at about 2000-3000rpm sounds like the muffler but its coming from the middle of the car. and it cant be the cat cuz the check engine would be on. anyone know? like a PRAAAAAAAAAAAA PRAAAAAAAAAAAAA noise. ill try to use my video camera to capture the noise, and post it up.

Sound like a heat shield is loose.
