I love how relatively diverse your cars have all been. Good choice.

and god no, please... the Veloster is hideous. I love what Hyundai/Kia is doing, but those things are gross.

Congrats Crazy.

Though my sensible side has me purchasing a Golf TDI at the end of the year, it'll be hard to not at least test drive the new GTI.

Picked the Focus ST, only because I'm not a huge fan of the Mini redesign. It'll probably grow on me & I haven't driven it yet, but I really liked the prior design (which I hated compared to the 1st gen BMW/MINI).

My old Cooper S was a blast to drive and so unique, but completely unreliable. To the point were I was spending every Saturday at the dealership getting something fixed. The new ones I'm sure are more reliable but are bloated and ugly.

My old GTI was reliable but not really as fun to drive as the Mini. Maybe if I had gotten the manual instead of the DSG it would have been more lively. Everything worked great but it just didn't do anything special to make it exciting to drive. The new one's just look boring IMO.

I voted other and I'd pick the Fiesta ST. I like its size and weight, and from everything I've read its a blast on the track. Plus I like the looks a bit better then the Focus's.

The new Mini has an engine designed and made by BMW finally. Im hoping this helps the reliability.

I liked the Focus ST but did not love it after driving it compared to the others but its still a great car. The Mini made me have a huge grin for days after driving it. I know everyone is different though.

Wow, man of action. Poll posted 6/13, car ordered 6/15. Nice. albeit the exact opposite of what the poll results show

Nice choice, and since you do apparently change cars like you change your socks, this thing will be gone before the first sign of reliability issues.

Excellent. You wont be sorry!

I think I like the older gen Mini's look better, but the updated interiors + fit and finish + new options of the new model would sell me instantly.

lol.

New Mini's look cool and they are a blast to drive, I just wouldn't want to own one. Would have been Focus ST all the way for me. Congrats on the new ride.

Well I was asking what others would get, not what I should get.

I had pretty much made up my mind before making the thread. Point really was that there are so many great cars in this price range. Its very hard to choose.

I will agree on one thing, I am also not a fan of the lower bumper on the Cooper S but the car was that good to ME that I can over look it. Rest of the car makes up for it. IMO

The thing that got me was the one (and only) that I've seen so far (in the yellow/orange color posted above) was that the taillights seemed to be enormous, disproportionately so.
Also, they are becoming less 'Mini' as the generations evolve.

Have not decided yet. Leaning towards buying it but depends how the lease rates are when I pick it up.

Wow, there are so many options in the configurator.

Just curious, but you didn't get the heated seats or nav? Or automatic climate control?

How long until it's built?

I changed the options and now finalized it today. For 2015 the auto climate control is standard. I added heated seats today. Do not care for navi. Iphone/GoogleMaps through bluetooth works best for me.

Congrats! Can't wait to see some photos. So I'm guessing the larger size of the new gen didn't effect the handling too much if you're buying one right?

Guess they used lighter and stronger suspension components so not much weight was gained. Google tells me it gained about 60 lbs from the previous generation.

Called Mini USA and they have my car slotted for first week of July for production.

Because that there are crazy ST deals out there, I would take the Ford, but if prices were the same I would go with a GTI.

in all of my car shopping, MINI leases have been the biggest joke. the lease payment is equivalent to a car almost 10k more in sticker value. ford fiesta is also laughable, but cheap enough that buying makes sense and resale value isnt a big deal.

my vote - Mazda3 / used C30 (discontinued) / GLA (coming out soon)

Saintor would tell you to get a BMW 328.

Therm would tell you to get a Lexus IS and change the light bulbs.

Just kidding guys.

Thanks for the link. That was some super informative reading! Nice to know it only gained 60lbs but is stiffer and should have better handling than the previous gen.
