All you jokers are debating tail lights when the man posts up videos of header/exhaust and no one responds to that? That TRD exhaust with Borla header combo sounds damn sexy!

1) Clear Tom's > Red Tom's
2) Don't waste your money on the Borla headers
3) JDL makes a nice piece, but a few have had issues with the headers contacting the oil pan; not to mention the ridiculous wait time. I'd suggest Nameless - the price is about the same and those guys put a lot of time and effort into them.

Oops.
Those videos were just some sample that I liked.
Getting a header/exhaust combo will be laaatttterrrr. More interested in dialing in the suspension set up after multiple track events.
BUT the OFT/OFH combo for $944 sounds very good.

Header requires a tune btw, you have to factor that in. I've heard good things about the OFT tuning platform. I'm still waiting for dyno graphs of the Nameless header.

Yeah, I would never get something like header without tuning it. That's why I was interested in that tune+header combo.
A lot of teenage fanboys and haters in that Nameless header topic.

Yes.
The CEs were supposed to be a temporary wheel but I love them too much to change them. I may get different width/offsets when the time comes though.
This. TC105Ns are light.

Got it. PMed one of the wheel vendors to see how much they go for a set.
Morgan, do you know how to have the instrumental cluster to be always lit up when the headlight is selected at "Auto"? I can't really see anything other than digi speedometer during the day. Damn 5% tint.

Woah. First time my traction control slapped my face today.
I was making a fast right turn in 2nd gear. Didn't really go in fast but gave a pretty good amount of gas right when I was getting out. It just felt so glorious for .5 second and felt the back end slide just a little. TC kicked in right away to kill the momentum.
Jesus, RWD is fun.
I can't wait to go to the track this Saturday. ONLY TWO DAYS LEFT. OMG.

You leave TCS/VSA on?? Unless there is ice or a serious downpour, I turn it off the second I get in the car. What sucks is that it doesn't fully turn off - EBD is still on, so if you get a really aggressive slip angle going on, the car will say no and correct it. Three wheeling will also engage EBD, which makes a disgusting grinding noise when it happens; which is every time I pull into my driveway.
So if you hear people on the forum or at the track day referring to the "pedal dance", it's a sequence that is used to turn everything off, ABS included.

I've driven Fail Wheel Drive for more than 10 years. I'm still not used to this glorious RWD.
Hopefully I'll learn A LOT from the track event tomorrow.

What It Really Means To Stay 'Smooth' On The Track
Everyone says "smooth is fast." They're not wrong. The issue with saying "smooth is fast" is that it's such a vast amount of knowledge crammed into one word: smooth. Every time I'm on the track I learn something new, and after a few years of experience this is what I've come to understand by that saying.
Think Ahead. Stay a move ahead. If you're about to apex a corner, think about where the car should end up after the turn. Anticipate what is going to happen next. This is one of those small things that greatly reduces lap times and incidents. If you're focused on hitting the apex, you've probably missed the exit. As soon as you clip the apex, you should be thinking about when to power in, and where the car needs to end up.
Be Calm. As easy as that sounds it's one of the most difficult things. When I'm agitated, my reaction time is slower, and my ability to think ahead is diminished. On the straight away, open your hands, take a deep breath, and relax. You can't be smooth if you're agitated.
Understand Physics. The biggest issue I've seen with new driviers is overworking the tires. Physics has a funny way of butting into what your inputs are trying to achieve. You can do one of three things at any given time: brake, accelerate, or turn. Do two of those three things at once and you overwork the tires to the point where they might lose traction. Brake, turn, and then accelerate. Gauge your distance, what speed you should be going, and how much traction the tires can hold and accordingly do one of those three things. When you start to accelerate, accelerate. Don't go on/off the throttle, do it once and do it right.
Be Gentle. Don't crank the wheel, don't stab the brakes, and don't mat the throttle instantly. Turn the wheel smoothly. When you start to brake, ease into it. When you throttle in, imagine you're on ice. The same idea works in reverse as well; ease off the throttle and ease off the brakes. Abrupt inputs unsettle the car, and those mistakes cause you to go into the grass. Let off the brake too quickly and the weight will transfer to the rear, which will cause understeer as you enter the corner.
Smooth is fast, and that's a true statement. At first it's difficult to know how to be smooth, and seat time is essential to learning how to be fast. It takes time, practice, and a lot of patience. Work at it, and you'll achieve what you've been working toward.

For some reason, I'm in love with this sound. I really want my car to be a little louder. It's really quite in stock form. This seems like a really cheap option to do it. What do you think?

Glad you had fun! Track days are effing awesome, wish I could go to more.
Can't remember if it was in the discussion: Did you buy your own helmet? Or were you able to rent one at the track?
