IMO the only problem with the GTI is the fact that it is FWD and that yours was a dsg. Manual all the way. Although my dads S5 has the 7speed dsg and it shifts fast as hell. The cars looks sweet man, I would miss it too. Candy White is a great color was gonna get it on my R but figured I'd go with rising blue instead.

What the hell, how did he get Subaru to pay? When I got my Evo, Mitsubishi made it VERY clear that the clutch is a wear item and they would not pay for a new one, no matter what mileage is on the car.

Honestly I couldn't tell you. I went over there with him and Subaru said that since the car is obviously still under warranty they would cover it. The car went in Wednesday and on Friday I drove him over there to pick it up and he didnt have to pay a penny. VW said i am fully responsible for my clutch as well.

Bags actually work exceptionally well. I have seen plenty of guys with older cars (late 60s, early 70s camaros, stangs) with them on the track and they actually handle very well

Oh Im sure they work well on the track. I just feel like once it gets bagged it's more of a show car because ill drop it on some deep dish HRE's.

When a car is dropped on bags in my mind it automatically becomes a show car. Also I dunno of its better on a track just because its on bags. Wouldn't that system add a lot of weight? I have no clue what its composed of, just seems like it would.

And I doubt it would make a good handling car better. Maybe a bad one like fsttyms1 said with the old camaro's, which are obviously known not to turn.

No I bought the car in October. Then I drove 1000 miles in a week. Then took it to Avalon Motorsports. My dad has had stuff done on his S5 down there and we know the owner really well. So I went in there I had APR deliver Stage III to him. But no I did all the mods afterward.

Do it! I race and love it. I'd say that over half of the entries are kids, and most are under 14 y/o. They start them out as young as 5.

It's a ton of fun, great experience, and great group of people. Be advised it's not a cheap hobby, but it is a blast.

I actually have a Junior kart for sale (depending on how old your kid is) if you're interested

I am in a bit of a predicament here. My dad just gave me the option of getting a 2009 Audi S5 with a APR Supercharger. The car is Ibis white w/ Tuscan brown interior, 6MT, prestige with titanium (Black Optics pack), keyless entry/start every option possible. 21,000 miles and its 38,000$. My dad is getting rid of his S5 in June/July when his RS5 gets delivered. I don't know what to do i have so much money into the Golf and Stage III+ is coming out soon so ill be close to 500HP in that car. Im just not sure if i want to abandon the lovely project i have going on. But the R doesn't have that badass look and that V8 rumble that can be heard for miles coming out the back. Meanwhile the S5 will be about 550HP with the APR supercharger, APR carbonio intake, AWE Track exhaust with non-res downpipes and Stage III clutch, 380MM BBK, bags, E-code headlights, B8.5 facelift tails and a nice set of wheels (HRE P43SC, BBS CH-R). These are all of the things me and my dad agreed would get done to the car. It would be one of the nicest rides around and will beat most everything. Until APR puts their supercharger for RS5 on sale. Then my pops car will beat mine. The car is my birthday/christmas present for the next few years and my graduation present, just a couple years early. I am going to drive the S5 tomorrow and i know i will love it, i love driving the one sitting in the garage. I just think as soon as i hear that V8 flood my ears with beautiful music i will fall in love. What would you guys do?

is that even a question.

screw the golf, get the s5!!!! you'll be the most ballin out 16 year old on the planet but f the haters. since you actually take your cars on the track, it'll be worth it.

Yea i know... I just don't know if i want more attention than i already get in my Golf. I think I'm going to have to go for it though. Also a buddy of mine and my dads who owns Avalon motor sports has had an AWE exhaust with non-res down pipes on hold for one of his other customers and the customer bailed and he said if i wanted it i could drop by tomorrow and get right after i get the car. So theres already one mod done. Its just such a killer car.

Well here she is! I just picked her up from my buddies shop that he opened especially for me today! As the car sits she is all stock except for the AWE Track with Non-Res DP's. The car sounds sooo nice when you stomp on it getting on the highway wow is it loud! Cant wait to start getting some mods on this baby! I just ordered E-codes, B8.5 tails a couple minutes ago, just to start this build off. I am about to go on a beautiful drive up into the mountains on some back roads. Just hope i can keep my dads cabbie in rearview! But i wish i had a cab for this beautiful 80 degree day!
Here are some pics!
