2013 Golf R.

Hi guys,
Im 16 years old and new here on the forum and am getting a 2002 Acura TL later this summer from my grandpa. This may sound a bit spoiled but this will be my beater car for days that are either snowy or rainy. That thing will just get lowered, subs and a set of wheels. Is there anyway i can make that thing exponentially faster pretty easily? Anyway, my current car my parents bought for me and its a 2013 Golf R fully modded via APR Stage III with 450HP. Along with Stage III the car has Dieselgeek Sigma 6-speed short shifter, Volkswagen Racing CAI, Southbend Stage III clutch, KW Suspension Variant 2s, AWE SwitchPath exhaust and down pipe, 365mm Stoptech BBK. Also, i have an Uber stealth under floor sub box with a 10'' sub. There are a few other little things done to the car. I currently have a set of HRE P43SC's on order, i should get them by july, hopefully... Also by the end of the summer i will be done with the car and it should be fully built and will be on bags
I cant post any pics as i am new to the forum. Will get some up later down the road. But the car has its stock brakes, wheels and is set back to stock ride height for the winter. Should be getting back its ADV5.01 wheels, Brakes and lowered within a month or so.

I figure id just introduce myself and i need some posts to be able to post pics and what not

Thanks,
Alex

He seems humble enough Makes no bones about the fact that he's young and the parents bought the car for him.

Alex, welcome to the forums. Would love to see pics of the R when you can get them

450HP first car, 16 year old kid. Congrats on that super fast golf. Drive carefully, that is a lot of power to handle.

Now, to make TL exponentially faster you have only one option. Drop it out of the airplane. Read up on the Comptech CLS and you will learn that even the factory tuner mule with best performance parts available is piss slow. 14.1 seconds 1/4 mile.

What do you expect rich kids to drive a corolla??

Anyway welcome to the forum!! You're probably gonna get flamed! I have a 2G tl , stock though.

Hope you're a good driver to handle all that power btw!

If the TL is going to be a beater car, why bother modding it all?

If your parents are well off enough to buy you a new pocket rocket, good for you. typically when a kid gets a new car with a ton of power it gets wrecked. The odds are against you. I don't know too many kids that had higher powered cars that didn't abuse them and have some kind of accident with it.

Even peeps that have experience driving will be retarded with it and hurt someone. I would assume that at 16 you haven't been driving long, unless you have been racing cars since you were 5.

Maybe you are different.

I'm sorry but you posted a thread in car talk like this and not the TL section? If you have questions about the TL your grandpa is giving you, why did you even mention the Golf R? And you named the title of the thread Golf R? And why does your age matter at all when asking about the TL?

"My parents bought for me" = unneeded information. You want the attention.

I love HRE wheels... expect they are fucking expensive.

Thanks for the morning chuckle.

This will not end well. After the first post, I had that feeling. After his reply... confirmed.

BTW, being new doesn't mean you can't post pics. Upload to Photobucket or similar photo hosting service, then link to the photos. Would love to see the Golf R.

Have to re-iterate this.
Save your parents some money and let them go on vacation. Have a party at your house when they're gone. Screw some chick on your 4000 thread count egyptian cotton sheets.

Win win win

Alex, bragging about what your parents have given you isn't going to earn you any respect here. I would love to see the car but as of right now you're all talk. Post some pictures

Good luck with the TL.

Reminds me of the 18yo with his WRX STI packed with friends. His parents bought the car for him too.

http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/story?se...and&id=8839043

I remember when I was 18 and how stupidly i drove. I just hope this 16yo is smarter than I was back then.

I had a 1985 lebaron that was a hand me down from my uncle as my first car. I banged it up bad the first year of driving. Multiple fender benders. I can't imagine ever having a brand new car as a first car for a kid KNOWING it will get banged up. But thats just me.

And Yea, we are all really jealous

(when talking about a single easy bolt on then its true) but when talking in general....BS, They can and are faster than that. Im faster than that with 350k miles on my engine and naturally aspirated.

I remember that one SSP is no place to speed. That road is shit.

Also reminded me of this story.

Not denying that you can go faster. Did you click on the link in my post? "Comptech CLS" is where the link lives. From the article their CLS had all of the boltons CT had available. Traction and torquesteer made the 0-60 and 1/4 weak. Top end acceleration was great, but how often do you get to do 75-130mph runs.

Do you guys actually believe this kid has a Golf R and 450hp? Most kids lie about what they have when in reality it's probably his parents car, and it is stock while he drives the old TL.

Something better tires would have taken care of and made it faster. My motor makes more hp than the low boost pulley sc and i have for the most part zero tq steer. And i do runs like that quite often actually.
