It's a little too late with the phenominal sales the 350z has had for it to fall on it's face.


But if they make another worthy Supra it might put a dent in the 350z sales. Plus the 350z will be old to some folks by then.

It would have been at a car show this year if it was going to be a 05 model.

 

It still could be at the NY Auto Show in April. Supposedly Acura will be showing off an RL Concept car at the NY Auto Show which will be almost exactly like what the all-new '04 RL will look like.

It'd be real cool to see a new Supra. I wonder what it would do to the resale of the older ones.

Even still the RL has been announced by Honda. Maybe it'll be a suprise for Toyota

The G35 and z are nice cars But the though of a new Supra is awesome!!!!

 

New Supra would be incredible...but it would have to retain the inline 6...

That engine sounds awesome...& the torque is crazy. I miss my 90...:boohoo:

guys the supra comeback was offically cancelled...no point in pondering something that ain't gonna happen...at least in the forseeable future.

 

I just read the other day that Toyota was changing the engine in the GS300 and going to the V6. Are they going to do this over the entire line? I thought the torque of the inline 6 far outweighed the negatives (size)?

 

That inline 6 was bulletproof & had gobs of potential torque, even N/A...for them to go with a V6 is terrible.

But, IF it ever comes back, it prolly will be a V6 due to their keeping the costs down. They'll probably just tweak the Camry engine, etc to save the additional money.

There's just no comparing the two engines, IMHO.

 

Lexus is getting rid of their inline engines... It sucks, but they are going to V6's like most of their competitors. BMW is basically the only one going to be left (other than GM SUV's) with inline 6's

 

When I said falls flat on its face, I didn't mean that the Z sucks, just hopeful that a future supra would keep the honor of the mkIV. BUT as you guys said, it's not gonna happen. Boo.

 

I read that they were putting the V6 in the GS300, I don't know about any other auto Lexus makes with the I6 (IS300).
