The NY show wasn't as exciting as I was hoping! The TL concept is OK...I can wait for the real thing before I make up my mind.
But did you see the new Toyota Solara? Ewwwwwwww!
That back end looks a lot like the first Hyundai Tiburons!

I like it alot. I can see a little 7 series in the profile and a little CTS and Stang in it (the stang I see a little in the rear and a little in the front). Obviously I can see the TSX in it but then again why wouldn't you?
Personally I hope the car has mirrors (just looks wierd to me). I rather have wipers as well. I think the concept has this new stuff just to be different and show people "hey, we're original and have some neat ideas." I agree that they won't make it into production. I believe the car will look a little smoother when production begins and I think the rear will probably look different. All in all I think the production car will look similar with some changes and will look hot! Now that just need to up the HP and put in an AWD system for the 05 TLS!

There was a video with a reporter saying high 20s for price. My guess that with the new toys and some added power that the price for a TL would be very high 20s to low 30s. Hopefully the TLS will have a few more goodies and be under or at mid 30s.

Ok, some of you guys need to take a step back from the CRACK PIPE!!!!!!!! That car is badass.....you are all to negative, just assuming none of this stuff will make production, well they dont have much time to change too much stuff on it, so why not.
But i would think the price would be somewhere closer to 35k. why would they take sales away from the TSX with price in the 20's?

very nice car, I love the profile and rear. The front is a little bland though. As stated, I can't see any of those concept components like the rearview cameras going into production yet. Those things are usually introduced on the high end models first and filter down over time.

Everyone is so negative about this car. You all should be amazed that Acura is even bringing these concepts out. We all know how boring and bland H/A has been lately.
Just what if that car actually made it into production, even with all that stuff on it. Would you still question it??? Dont be so negative just be happy Acura even has these things on the car.
I have to agree that the styling is a little bland but its different. JMO

the hood looks tooooo bland and the end is too abrupt. those are my only complaints.
it looks like your standard acura from head on.
from the side it looks nice, and the brembos and wheels are cool, but really, its not even a working concept. apparently theres no interior.

Nice, but not breathtaking or stunning or anything.
Who's got pics of the new Solara??? Is it ugly? The one now is pretty dang bland too.
i like this TL way better than the last...my wife loves the current tl and i just dont get it....it does nothing for me...but this one closer to the looks of a 540...ill say it's almost a given this will be a n i-vtec 3.5 or .34 as yet to be determined and probablly 270 hp but ....big but expect a big bump in torque minumum 260 and with a similar power band as last TL but with more torque all the way accross..i expect this thing to move....i wouldnt be surprised if we see a late intro typeS 300 hp AWD 6mt and or SMG option...
New York 04/16/2003 -- The Acura "Concept TL" performance luxury sedan debuted today at the 2003 New York International Auto Show. The concept features sleek, performance-oriented exterior styling indicative of the design of the next generation TL production model.
"Every aspect of this concept's design, from the aggressive front end to the short rear overhang, contributes to an aggressive, muscular style that conveys the TL's high-performance nature," said Tom Elliott, executive vice president, auto operations. "The Concept TL's dynamic design is a pure expression of Acura and provides an advance preview of the all-new 2004 TL."
The "Concept TL" was designed to evoke the image of the "ultimate athlete," a combination of power, speed and agility that delivers world-class performance.
The Concept TL is several inches shorter than the current production model for a tighter, sportier look. The stance is muscular and aggressive with pronounced fender flares and large, 4-piston Brembo brakes accenting the flangeless 19-inch alloy wheels and low profile, high performance tires.
The muscular body slopes forward in a pronounced wedge shape. On each side, a deep character line runs from a side marker on the front quarter panel to another in the rear. The sleek cabin features flush mounted windshield glass, which improves aerodynamics while adding to the car's sophisticated demeanor. Compact side-view cameras further enhance aerodynamics while providing superior visibility. Every detail from the brushed aluminum Acura logo on the grille to the LED illuminated taillights is designed to evoke the feeling of precision craftsmanship and athleticism.
"The overall design conveys a feeling of tension," says Jon Ikeda, chief designer for the Concept TL, "like the muscles on a sprinter's arms and legs when he's ready to launch off the starting line."
A long, sleek hood accented with pronounced character lines, culminates in an aggressive front-end boasting large air intakes and an angular headlight assembly containing Xenon High Intensity Discharge headlights. Brushed aluminum accents, utilized on the signature five-sided Acura grille and throughout the car, add a high tech contrast to the silver metallic exterior. Instead of windshield wipers, the Concept TL is designed to use a series of jet nozzles, located in the cowl area, to shoot high-pressure air onto the windshield to keep it free from rain or snow during inclement weather.
In the rear, the Concept TL utilizes a short trunk lid with a pronounced lip and a V-shaped break below the trunk to express the car's aggressive nature. Dual exhaust pipes help to accent the car's muscular style.
"In California, and especially on the freeways, the part of a car you see the most is the rear end," explains Ikeda. "So we wanted to make sure that this concept looks just as fast and aggressive from the rear as it does in front."
In addition to providing a glimpse of the design that will be applied to the 2004 TL when it goes on sale this fall, Acura announced that the '04 TL will be fitted with some of the latest high technology available, including the world's first automotive application of multichannel DVD Audio 5.1, Bluetooth wireless telephone connectivity and XM" Satellite Radio.

Let see:
M3
S4 V8
S60R
IS430
CTS-400 HP...
Acura TL again another Intro-lux Accord... if it stay FWD and no AWD, 6-speed, SMG, 340+HP.... It is another Maxima Competitor...
