What do you expect...even if both cars have 500hp...the Z06 is 3100lbs. and the Cobra is 3900lbs. 800lbs. is a killer....and even though I own an 03 Cobra...I'd LOVE a Z06!!!!

The Vette was really drownin out the Cobra in terms of sound -- and the Cobra isn't the quietest car in the world.

Z06 is one domestic car I truly respect. Pretty well rounded car.
Mustang can do only one thing good. Go fast in straightline.

 

I dont see what's so exciting about this... 400hp with more weight vs 500hp with less weight. Not to mention the Z06 has a better suspension.

It's just a comparison race to show how fast the Z06 is. The Cobra is fast. The Z06 is faaaaaaast. If the Cobra was modded, this "race" would tell us nothing, comparison-wise.

 

I still think the Cobra is an amazing machine. I can't think of any other car other then the X2C ’03 Cobra that ran the 1/4 mile in 8.9s @154MPH with just a turbo upgrade and supporting mods all while the engine internals were all STOCK.

 

i love the sound of the blower on a cobra.

um... it's a 505hp Z06, of course it's not going to be quiet.

obviously it's going to shit all over a stock cobra, it runs a second quicker and 10mph faster in the 1/4.

 

it's pretty easy to guess. what car is well-known for running 8's and 9's with a big turbo on stock internals?

That's a nice Supra, but...

The X2C Cobra that ran an 8.9s 1/4 mile had stock cams also the trap speed was much higher at 154MPH. And it ran that time without NAAAAWS.
