04^ tsx 6spd or 07 4dr si

Well guys im not new to acurazine i currently own a 03 tls but am looking to upgrade a bit.....im lookin at either a first gen tsx 6spd or a four si sedan.....im leaning more towards the tsx cuz i love the luxury sides of it...but the k series motor makes it so easy to mod performance wise....idk if this in the wrong section or not if it is move it and let me know where to find lol....basically i jus want some opinions on how u guys like the car and if theres any major component failure with these cars cuz with my tls as u might the trannys suck.... But yeah thats pretty much it.....o yeah and has anyone here put a rsx type s head on their car cuz i have a couple friends that kseries civics and non use the k24 head.....so thanks guys

If it were me, I'd get the Si out of the two but if the TSX were an 06-08. Then I'd get the TSX.

You can't go wrong with either one.

Capitalization, punctuation, and proper spelling would make it a lot easier for myself and others to read that incoherent dribble. Either way, I say look for something other than Honda/Acura, there are many more possibilities out there.

well my tls stock and si 4dr stock both run 14s qtr mile....but on a highway pulls i do beat my buddies' car up top, so i cud agree with you there....only thing as far as performance parts go since its an automatic car there arent too many options out there....my buddies and i have civic track car and we use a k24 block out of an 04 tsx and 06 rsx type s and with minor bolts car did low 12s were lookin to build the block and head and cut the car up a lil more shud hit 10s soon....the i know theres alot of options for the k series motors which is in both the si and the tsx...thats why im leaning towards those cars....plus im 22, im trying to get the modding car stage out of my life early trying to go for a nice 5 series as the next car after this one even maybe m5 and keep to chyll

TSX would do me fine instead of a civic. Even though it's a 4 cyl at least you gotta a 6 you can high rev that engine through. It has way more performance than an auto TSX. Plus you get a decent leather interior with HID's. 06 and later adds some stuff like bluetooth and other minimal cosmetic tweaks.

lol the grammar wasn't THAT bad...

anyways def pick the TSX between the 2 (more comfortable, better looking, good value, bigger engine, double-wishbone front)
the only thing I'd want that's on the Civic is the LSD

but of course a K24 has a lot less torque than a J32 and its really quite annoying

so I would keep the TL-S and get headers and maybe a s/c

I'd consider both of those cars a downgrade ..

Keep the TL-S.

Or move on to a 3G TL.

Agreed. For what he'd be paying for either car he could get a 3G for or even less.

if your only 2 choices are the TSX and Civic Si, then stick with the TL-S...unless you're having transmission issues, then dump it. 4-bangers are rough and won't have the low-end grunt when you need it. i used to own a '00 Civic Si and that thing is just powerless until you hit 5K+ rpms.

You know, those cars are very different from each other so you should take each for an extended test drive if possible. The TSX has moderately more low end torque but the Si has more high rpm fizz. The Si interior is also very different from the TSX.

Someone above mentioned that these cars are a downgrade from a '03 TL-S, my is that they are a sideways grade, not up or down.

This is true but the K20 Civic SI is a totaly different beast compared to your B16 SI. Its not only a full second faster through the 1/4 mile and traps about 5MPH more but has a lot more low end as well plus one more gear to work with. My friend had a 00 SI and my cousin has a 02 RSX-S and driving both of them around town is night and day as far as low-end. I will say that I love the sound of both when hitting VTEC!!

If you are more interested in speed and handling go with the SI. If you want more luxury and comfort with a larger interior go with the TSX. Personally I would have to drive them back to back to decide. I don't know if the TSX would have enough power for me. I wish the previous gen TSX came with the J30 6psd! I would have bought that new instead of my accord.

^ Not true, the 3G TL base comes in a 6 speed .. a-spec is an optional package.

I'm sure with enough looking you can find a 6 speed TL for 11 - 13,000. You might have to travel some distance though ...

If you are looking to buy from one of those two choices, I would go for the SI. It has half the millage of the TSX.
