Uhh ... Altima 3.5 6MT? I'd say it's a driver's race since the VQ35 is a beast of a motor but I hear that transmission is difficult to "race" in (ie the gear spacing of 1st and 2nd are so short ... you waste a lot of time shifting).

Then again ... the 03 TL-S has a transmission made of glass.

Racing aside ... I'd take the '03 TL-S over a '03 G35 or an '03 Altima ... Nissan / Infiniti interiors of that era are gawd awful...

There should be a new rule. If you revive a thread that was started before you even had your license you should be :troutslap

Just jokin

I think a 03 TL-S 6mt might have a chance being like mention above the Nissian trannies of that era weren't operator friendly.

An '03 6 speed TL-S would also beat a Veyron.

holy shit I got an email notification (since I posted in this thread) and noticed it was back in '05!

Anyways, since I now own a G35c and had a CL-S before, I can certainly relate. This is going to be based off of an '01 CL-S auto and an '05 G35c auto.

Stock vs Stock, the G35c is definitely faster than my CL-S was. Not by a ton, but noticeably faster. As mentioned, when I had my CL-S with Comptech H/I, I beat a couple G35s, both stick and auto by about 1/2-1 car length. Now that I have a few mods on my G35c, I wouldn't hesitate at all to go heads up against a CL-S or TL-S. I haven't taken my car to the track yet, but if I WERE to guess, I'd say it would run a 14.1-14.2 @ 101mph or so.

If I were to guess, a 3G TL-S would give me a run for my money, not so much a base TL. Either way, neither car is all that fast, but definitely pack a decent amount of power to take many cars on the road. Damn, just writing this makes me miss my CL-S :'(

Really?? u would rather pay thousands to fix your "tranny" then having an awful interior?

i am surprised no one has mentioned the "DeadZone" for 2nd TL/CLS...

for all the noobs... if u wanna race with someone with ur 2nd TL/CLS, u better win by 10000 bus lenghs by end of 3rd gear(109mph), or a civic will walk you and no i am not kidding.

^---haha, oh man do I remember that

As soon as you hit around 100mph (as you said end of 3rd), that shit didn't even move! Talk about irritating.

However, i really wanna know how long CLS/TLS takes from 100-140mph compare to others.

You really dug deep for this thread angelloi. Anyway, I'll bite. My son's stock 05 Altima 3.5SE 5MT can pretty much smoke any stock 2G TL-S and 3G TL-S 5AT, with it being a driver's race against a 3G TL-S 6MT. Presumably, the SE-R 6MT should run similar to that of my son's 3.5SE 5MT.
