03 Accord

I am looking at getting an 03 accord ex v6 6 speed coupe. I am looking at this one
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT
It is about 2.5 hours from me and my brother was near there this weekend and checked it out and took it for a drive and said it was good.
What are your opinions on this? part of me tells me I should go for a civic si
The guy has it listed on autotrader for 21K and keeps trying to convince me that blue book is 21K and carmax offered him 19K I am getting 18,600 kbb for excellent condition private party. I offered 18K straight up and he said no. He is the second owner and only had it for 10 months which is kinda fishy
Also some on PLEASE send me a carfax for this cause i don't have one yet tennisjon2002 at yahoo.com

straight up tell him you ran it on KBB in excellent condition at you got 18,600.00 not 21k. explain you like his car, but you have seen many others going for much less than 21k. then say I am ready to go but I need a carfax report and see what he says. if he gets pissed and defensive say you are no longer interested and hang up.

It looks nice but I agree with sbuswell. Make sure you don't jump the gun and investigate it before you make your move. :

yea my mom already talked to him and told him it was 18600 and he is supposed to email how he got his figures. I figure its not worth talking about this now cause it is really at the bidders will.

Aww crap...I'm taking in a 2003 Accord EX V6 coupe, Black/Black, but in automatic. It's got 34k miles on it, female driven. It's in excellent shape, although I need to paint the rear bumper because of some scratches from parking. I should have the car in the next week or so. My price is less than what you are offering for that car though. Interested? PM me.

Condition Definitions from KBB

"Excellent" condition means that the vehicle looks new, is in excellent mechanical condition and needs no reconditioning. This vehicle has never had any paint or body work and is free of rust. The vehicle has a clean title history and will pass a smog and safety inspection. The engine compartment is clean, with no fluid leaks and is free of any wear or visible defects. The vehicle also has complete and verifiable service records. Less than 5% of all used vehicles fall into this category.
Good

"Good" condition means that the vehicle is free of any major defects. This vehicle has a clean title history, the paint, body and interior have only minor (if any) blemishes, and there are no major mechanical problems. There should be little or no rust on this vehicle. The tires match and have substantial tread wear left. A "good" vehicle will need some reconditioning to be sold at retail. Most consumer owned vehicles fall into this category.
Fair

"Fair" condition means that the vehicle has some mechanical or cosmetic defects and needs servicing but is still in reasonable running condition. This vehicle has a clean title history, the paint, body and/or interior need work performed by a professional. The tires may need to be replaced. There may be some repairable rust damage.
Poor

"Poor" condition means that the vehicle has severe mechanical and/or cosmetic defects and is in poor running condition. The vehicle may have problems that cannot be readily fixed such as a damaged frame or a rusted-through body. A vehicle with a branded title (salvage, flood, etc.) or unsubstantiated mileage is considered "poor." A vehicle in poor condition may require an independent appraisal to determine its value. Kelley Blue Book does not attempt to report a value on a "poor" vehicle because the value of cars in this category varies greatly.

Looks like a car that's been in an accident can't really be in "excellent" condition. Downgrading it to "good" would be more realistic, and would reduce the price of the car.

yes, i am gonna quiz this guy and ask about wrecks and how much he got it for and see what he says back. I am pretty much not intrested in this car anymore though. Carfax reported a "minor wreck" on my current accord yet the frame was bent and the car was on the verge of being totaled

According to the Carfax, there was an accident in '04. I believe this guy bought the car in '05. He might not even know the accident existed.

Looks I'll be calling Shoofin next time I need a car.

I don't know of much probs with the 03 Accord other than the tranny recall for autos. I think they had rotor issues too. I'd check V6P for more info.

The car has never been in any wrecks. I purchased the car for $22,500, 10 months ago and it is a certified car.

Obviously he's either lying through his teeth, or hasn't seen his Carfax report. I'd just go look for another car if I were you. This guy will yank your chain till the end if you ask me. You're better off going elsewhere.

I am looking for a manual, no more crapomatics for me. Sorry, otherwise I would seriously consider your offer. If you get a manual anytime send me a PM. Good luck selling it though

^ I was referring to the Civic Si...

I offer new and used car leasing, sales and financing...

FYI, realize that the accident on the car occurred before the guy bought the car. Accident: 2004, guy bought it in '05, so he probably never ran a carfax on it to know for sure.

yea i realize it was before he got it etc. I just don't feel like playing games with people.
If you can make it worth it I will most def go get the si from you, I mean but if you were to hook me up that much you could sell it locally much easier.
They all seem to be going around msrp here

Hmm. He's probably pissed that he just found out he paid too much for the car when he bought it. LOL. What a way to find out something like that! Thank God for Carfax!

So have you found any other cars to look into yet, or are you going with the SI?

That's cool. I think it's good that you put money into it too, rather than the 'rents putting it all up for you...teaches some ownership & responsibility & crap like that.
