01 TL-P vs. '00 GS300
My friend has a gs300 and always boasts about how fast it is. Could my tlp beat it? I know the tlp has 5 more hp over it, but the gs has about 5 more lbs of torque. What is the deciding factor?

The +/- 5hp and torque basically means little or no diff in terms of performance at the crank...
but look at the weight:
01 tl w/o navi: 3483 lb.
00 gs300: 3638 lb.
I remember reading from somewhere that every 100 pounds approximately = 0.1 sec off your 1/4 mile.
Unless the gs300 has such a superior tranny/other mechanics that puts more power to the wheels to make up for the weight and beyond it... i highly doubt it'll "smoke" xpothosx.
But you know what i say? find a nice quiet spot, race him and find out! Just remember, stay safe, and use your head!

GS300 can shift pretty quickly.... specially if you turn on the Sport mode or whatever the button is called in the middle console.. so he'd probably win but feel free to try

GS300's are not fast, IS300 are a little faster then it. Unless the GS is modded an Acura TL-P should have no problem beating it.
1/4 mile times for the GS300 are in the high 15's to low 16's.

TL cuts off at 147.
When my cousin had his 02 GS300 we ran off the line, and from rolls and i had him in my stock 99 every time. When modded, it was no joke how hard i pulled on him.
