*VIDEO* 11.49 @ 120 mph HPA VW R32!!!!!!

I just read about this car in the Jan '04 issue of Motortrend.

It's a HPA tuned VW R32 packing 550hp, twin turbo, AWD & a 202 mph top speed....all on pump gas!!!!

0-60: 3.2 sec
60-0 braking: 107ft
1/4 mile: 11.49@120.18

That car is fast as hell, but did you see the cost figure in the article as well?

~$30k for R32 + $25k for stage II

Yeah it is a little much, but think about all of the cars out there for $55k...which one is all wheel drive, 550hp, twin turbo, 11.4 sec 1/4 mile, 202 mph top speed?

Not to mention it's a total sleeper!!!

I can see the R32 being somewhat popular, and what you say is true, but I just can't see that many people shelling out $55k on a VW. Nice car regardless.

C32 with Stage II package from EVOsport ($5495) puts out 435hp (~360rwhp) on 91 octane. They estimate low 12s with some sticky tires. No stage III yet, but they're aiming for 400rwhp. I gotta start saving up now.

I'm amazed that the box shaped Golf can even pass 175mph. I wonder how fast a similarly tuned 3.2L VR6 New Beetle (not that one exists) can go, pressuming that's more aerodynamic.
