Mannnnnnn... I haven't dynoed it yet. I've hit a problem and it seems to be electrical. Anytime there is any sort of load on the cars electrics (fan, headlights, stereo/sub) it makes the car run WAY too rich. I'm stumped since it kind of came out of no where.

It runs great though in the daytime with no headlights or music playing. Oh, it's running 20psi of boost.

Not yet. I'm expecting low 12's. Maybe 11's if I can hook up. In that video it wasn't hooking up for shi*.

Yea I just reread your post. If the stereo is causing it to go rich I doubt its the IACV.

Did it do this beforehand? You had a shop install this stuff right? Maybe they did something.

Do you have a PowerFC installed? Maybe it's an issue there or the grounding for the computer.

Also, speaking of grounding, make sure the headlights and other items are well grounded.

It ran fine when my buddy (who works at the shop) installed the new set-up. The first day we took it for a spin, it popped and backfired but that was because the plugs were too hot. I bought some heat range 8 plugs, gapped them to 25 and it ran great. But this was during the day, no headlights on. I do occasianly drive with my lights on during the day and I never noticed it doing this before. Two days ago I was driving and hit a pothole I didn't see, jarred the car pretty bad. I had my lights on that day and it started driving like poo. I parked the car for 15 minutes, started it back up and it ran fine, that's because I didn't turn on the headlights. I just now discovered that the headlights and fan is causing the problem. I'm leaning toward a bad ground or something that maybe was dislodged because of hitting that bump.

I have a reflash done by a gentleman here in Florida.

Link: http://www.rs-enthalpy.com/index.html

The tune is perfect as long as there is no electrical load. Idles at 14.7... at WOT it reads 10.5-11.0, it's on the rich side, but it's safe.

One of the things that happens with older cars is those things that need to be on a ground wind up with some corrosion on them, or just a bad contact patch. If that is not it, it may be within the ECU.

Reminds me of the fuel gauge in the bmw 2002. I could add half a tank by turning on the ac and the headlights. It would be interesting to see if a air/fuel meter that isn't part of your electrical system comes up with the same results. Though I guess if that is the signal that is going to your ecu it's still a big problem.

AH! I figured it out. I had remotely installed an oil pressure sending unit and had ground it to the chassis. It needed to be grounded to the block.

Took it for a spin tonight... All the rain we had earlier today cooled down the air, the 240 loved it.

For some reason the dynamometer was refusing to show a torque readout when we went to print out this graph. It ended up making 261 lbs ft.

Full boost is at around 5000rpm. I just installed a Greddy Profec B Spec II electronic boost controller which helps with the lag and holds a constant 20psi up to the rpm cutoff. The car pulls MUCH harder now. I would estimate I'm around the 350whp mark now.

BAD NEWS though... Seems the pistons may be on their way out.

We are still investigating what the issue is. Either way, with the head already tore off, I might as well go ahead and tear out the bottom end and fully build the motor.

Well, as long as you are there. But forged my friend, forged......

Too bad you can't go RB26. And the hatch you have looks good, so why the swap?

Well we figured out what the problem was. A screw from the throttle body had made it's way into the combustion chamber. I need new valves and valve guides, but it's a relief knowing it wasn't the pistons.

Oh yeah, we are. We're going to pull them and give them a good inspection before putting it back together. As far as we can tell, it just caused slight surface abrasions... but we'll double check them. Ran a compression test before pulling the head and it read 120 across the board. VERY good numbers.

KD: Looks to me the 240 is running with or in front of the Z06 until a certain point. But then the Z has just too much torque and goes by. How fast was it right when the Z catches the 240?

The first race, he jumped out but we ended up reeling him in and passing him by the end of second gear. The second race he jumped out by half a car and we did the same thing. Only way he passed us was when we let off. If it was a mile race the 240 would have kept on walking away. I would say when the cars passed the camera we were going in excess of 120mph.

I'm becoming a wheel whore. I ordered these in a pretty nice offset, not hellaflush, but reasonable for daily driving and practical track use.

Enkei RPF1
17x8.5 +30 Front
17x9.5 +38 Rear

I'm going five lug as well.
