Smile ***Nissan 240SX Re-Build*** -Pictures Inside-

Well, I've pulled the trigger on a project car, a '93 Nissan 240SX 5spd. I decided not to install a turbocharger yet, as I would like to create a personalized set-up later on. My friend and I will be re-building the car over the next month or so and I'll be updating pictures and progress throughout the process. Right now as of April 5th, the car is in pieces. There is nothing in the engine bay besides the fuse boxes and random electrical wires. I will get pictures up of the car tomorrow.

For now, here's a picture of the cam-cover that I painted tonight.

I needed some 320-grit sandpaper and Advanced Auto just closed,so it looks like I'll be finishing up the polishing of the letters tomorrow.

Looks nice! All projects gotta start somewhere.... keep us updated with the build. A guy I work with just crashed his S14 at a drift even. The rear windshield shattered into a million pieces and his rim separated from the barrel. Be careful.

Nice! Good luck on the rebuild. I had a '95 240SX SE 5spd. It was a very fun car, especially after I modded it.

OP, you should've used chapstick on those letters so that you don't have use sand paper to rub that off. If you use chapstick, paint comes right off.

I almost bought a 1996 240SX when I got my Maxima. At the time I really wanted 4 doors and the insurance was a lot more. It was brand new parked in a showroom for 2+ years. I really liked my Maxima, but wished I had gotten the 240.

Enjoy. I will like to see what you get done.

Sp here I am, back for an update!

Went out to my friend's place today to take a few shots of the mess (aka, 240) and brought back the hood, which I sanded and primed.

Here's a shot of a soon to be clean and filled engine bay.

A VERY filthy interior...

Shot of the KA24DE...

Hood after a sand and prime...

One day. This is what a 400whp KA24DE-T looks like.

Also, these are the wheels I will be getting with the deal, the suspension as well. I gotta say, I love the fitment!

I'll update again as soon as I can!

You are going to deprive that poor dog of his shade.

Good luck, It's always fun to buy a car that comes in pieces.

Looks like you've got a lot of work to do, but it'll definitely be satisfying once it is....especially if it looks anything similar to that pic.

I'm really leaning toward a Silvia front end conversion. I love the clean lines and simplicity of the design. Sil-Eighty!

The Silvia S13 is a nice look. Or, if you can find it, the S15 is good looking as well:

Are you planning on getting block headlights? or double or tripple?

I personally like the look of block headlights, but I know people like having double because they got projectors.

I was thinking about going with the triple headlights and of course the GT-R grill.

Something along the lines of these beasts...

An update... I just dropped the hood back off along with the cam-cover. Now a big decision that faces me...

WHAT COLOR TO PAINT IT?

I was leaning toward the 350Z blue that the engine bay already has, or possibly the Le Mans Sunset orange which is also a 350Z color. Any suggestions?

I'm not a huge fan of blue color or orange color.

When you are doing silvia front end, I hope you are getting all legit parts...hopefully no fiberglass stuff.

When I did my 97 conver., I was planning on using over fenders, but the quality on those fenders were so shitty that I ended up getting real 97 fenders.

I was planning on getting OEM/JDM parts from ebay. They have a few vendors that are offering the complete conversion kit for about $1000-$1300. Yeah, I joined 240sxforums.com, alot of guys on their seem to be stuck up and immature though. It's like I've been hearing, the 240 is becoming the "New Civic", as in, it's becoming the choice car of the ricer crowd. Pisses me off!

I really love the Carbon Grey color. My TL is Anthracite Metallic and I was kind of wanting to lean away from that area of the color spectrum, but it looks so nice! I was thinking, if I were to paint it a silver, to go with the silver offered on the 3rd gen TL. It's such a pure silver, it would really bring out the front end of a sileighty quite nice.

Tomorrow I will upload pictures to show how it's coming along. I have decided to paint the car white. The two shades I'm debating between are a metallic white and a pearl white (A yellow tint pearl, not a blue tint like on the Lexus IS350.)

Pearl on S14...

Yeah, no white wheels for me. I'm going to go for gold! The wheels will be staggered like in the Infinti picture, with 255 in the rear and 235 in the front.

Here are the wheels that will be installed along with a set of blue Rays lug nuts.
