$2,500...what do you think??
$2,500...what do you think??
Alright, so I have about $2,500 saved up that I can comfortably spend and I wanted to get some opinions and what you think I should get. I plan on getting all this stuff later this summer. I'm torn between several things, but here's my option list. I don't have to spend all of it as you will see in some of my 'options' but just give me some feedback.
Option A:
-Hondata Reflash
-Tein Basic Coilovers
-Comptech RSB
-UR Pulleys
Option B:
-OEM Underbody Lip Kit
-Tein Basic Coilovers
-Hondata Reflash
Option C:
-Advan Kruezer Series X 18"
-Comptech RSB
Option D:
-Nikon D300
-Maybe a 18-200mm or 70-300mm...not sure on lens yet
What do yall think? Like any of the options?? Have something completely else to suggest???

Lol...I've been saving this over the past 8 months or so. The rest has gone into classes.
I intentionally put a little away each month so I could have a little fun like this.
Tein SS coilovers ($900)
RSB ($120)
OEM lip kit ($750)
That would be the reasonable thing to do, however I always tend to knock out the most expensive things first. Im my case, it was the wheels...which took forever for me to get. After that, dropping $900 on coilovers, 1k for exhaust etc..could be done in a couple months. Since you have $2,500 now, i'd get some wheels. Also, if I could do it all over again, i wouldve got a used set and saved a LOT of money.

New camera. It'll last you a lot longer than any car or car parts you'll own, and can provide you with a good time-consuming, creative hobby. Of course, all the camera gear in the world would be a waste if you don't have much intention of putting it to good use and appreciating it. If that's the case, spend the money on whatever would satisfy you most, or whatever will get you the most money back when you (re)sell it.

Not trying to sound overly preachy, but if you still owe on you car I put would put the money towards the note. The satisfaction of a car entirely paid for is much greater than what any accessories will give you.
If already paid for, I would go with option D.

My parents were very gracious and traded in an SUV they had to get me my car.
EDIT: Don't have any credit debt on my shoulders either. Had it happen once....and never again.
how about this combo:
Hondata - $600
Progress RSB - $140
Cusco strut bar - $180
---------------------------
Total - $920
So you would then have $1080 to spend on wheels/tires of your choice (or maybe a set of coilovers)
When I had my TSX the Cusco/Progress combo made it a lot of fun to drive... took corners like a champ.

I cant fathom him getting anything useful for 2500 in mods to make the car even remotely entertaining on a track, but hey thats just me.
some of us cant afford to have 4 CARS! (even though 1 was a gift)
we gotta make due with jazzing up our daily drivers and i think the 2 grand he could spend would make it a lot of fun to drive.
maybe not as much as an elise or 944 with an LS1 swap but... if he could afford to have 4 cars, chances are that he would also be able to drop more than $2k in mods on them

He's right. If I could afford four cars.....I probably wouldn't even be driving a TSX.
While these mods I'm considering won't make it into a GTR, it will definitely give it some more aggressiveness and be a lot more fun to drive.

suspension mods might be an option too..The TSX is a nice car the way it is... But being a FWD I4, it's not the ultimate performance platform, so modding it is akin to putting lipstick on a pig
If you want more performance, start saving for a real car

This was all I was trying to say thanks for reiterating it!
