If I had to spend the 150 on only one car, then a 997 GT3 RS...

If I could split it up, I'd buy a 35K Porsche 993, and the rest on cheap random cars...

The 535 is 70k there? Holy crap! My dad paid under 60 for his, and it has everything, including awd.

It is a supremely good car though.

I'd take a Cayman S Sport for $69,900 in green. It's a modest bump in ponies over a regular Cayman S, but it does get you over 300hp and comes with PASM, sport exhaust and a steering wheel strikingly similar to a GT3. This is the daily driver.

That leaves me $81,100 to try to find a nice 996 body, 911 turbo cabriolet if I want outright speed instead of impeccable handling. This is for open air summertime fun.

Rarely will a dealer match KBB on a trade-in.

Who said anything about trade-in?
Trading in is for the lazy, sell it yourself and make an extra 10% or 20%.

With the tax savings it brings that difference, at least in this area, to 2-12% for 2% its not worth the headache of selling privately - negotiate a good deal on your trade and buy the car at or below invoice and selling privately is a huge pain in the ass that isn't worth it.

Agreed, for 2%, obviously not.
I'm not aware of any tax breaks when trading in around here, but perhaps it's something I should investigate for my next ride.

In MA , the state charges sales tax after the trade so if you buy a 50K car and trade in a 20K car, you pay 5% on 30K when you register it.

But didn't you say no trade ins?

And when they do they are typically "over showing" on the trade.

Mercedes CLS 63 AMG. Dream car right there I love the styling so much.
And then idk, i'd probably have like 50K left so I'd probably get an already pretty fast car and put the rest into making it go even faster
