The $150k question
Daily Driver: Mini Cooper S (custom built) $36,355
Weekend Racer: Corvette Z06 1LZ $72,520
For The Winter: Subaru Legacy 2.5GT spec.B $35,657
Leaves me about $5,000 for gas/insurance payments

I don't know if I would purchase half of the cars listed simply because they depreciate so damn quickly. The one thing, however, is that; I'd agree that a BMW 5-series or 3-series would be a good purchase for the family car, although I'd recommend the 3-series, I'm not a fan of large vehicles (Yes, I know I drive an Accord, but I also think it's way to large and inefficient).
If I was as deranged as I am now here is what my list would look like:
2003 Acura TL-S A-Spec (Imported from Canada)
2001 Acura CL-S in PDG
2003 Acura CL-S6
2008 Acura TL-S 6MT
2009 Mercedes Benz C63 AMG
Now if I left out the Acura's it'd be as follows:
2007 Mercedes SL65
2003 Acura TL-S A-Spec (Imported from Canada)
2001 Acura CL-S in PDG
2003 Acura CL-S6
2008 Acura TL-S 6MT

Viper Roadster. I guess I'd want a sensible comfy daily driver too, but I think I'd be too busy stuffing my oversized vibrating phallus enhancement into the nearest hedge.
Oh, and save the rest for gas. 8.4L V10, I'll need it.

2009 E90 M3 or Cayman S (I am VERY torn between these two)
2009 Honda Fit Sport w/ Nav
2009 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 Extended Cab
I'd be too happy with the above to get anything else. May be tempted to get a 1974 BMW 2002tii, unrestored.

ummmmm

oh, you're 17. you will become wiser with age
Great topic. If I had US$150k (C$160k) to frivolously spend on car(s),
1) Play car: 2009 GT-R ($85k if I can find one)
2) Practical vehicle / hauler: Infiniti M45x ($55k) ... you live in NY so you will see snow and feels pretty posh inside. Not as sporty as a 3-series, per se, but rather subdued driving experience.
That's what I'd probably do. Of course, that's before taxes ... and have $10k to spare for maintenance or investing in stocks like AIG ...

Depends on my economic status per this example. At my current dismal salary I'd get a used Sonata V6 and used Santa Fe and cash out. But since we're having fun I'd do a combination of a sports car for weekends, fun daily driver for me to get through traffic with the quickness, and a big SUV to haul the family and large items which my wife will drive daily. I can't give exact names as I'd test drive and research the hell out of it but my mood right now is:
335i $50k
Escalade ESV $65k
Used C6 Vette $35

When you have the opportunity to drive different vehicles you'll understand. Acura is an entry level brand, and IMO, the new models are not as competitive as the old ones were. This question was for entertainment, to see what other members of this forum would do with a sizable sum of money to spend on cars, to dream. I don't mean this as an insult, but your "dream" was pretty bland. Acura's, in particular modern Acura's just don't offer the driving experience, technology or performance that their peers do and the older ones just can't keep up with cheaper modern cars in terms of performance or luxury, which leaves the brand at an awkward place.

you're gonna either either have to have GM employee pricing or have a "in" with someone at a dealer if you want a LT 4X4 Duramax 25000 HD. cause it stickers like 55. trust me dad just got his new 09 1 ton Sierra 4 door 4x4 Duramax Diesel, plus he put Banks big hoss package on it again(like his old truck), dealer promises it will dyno about 500 wheel hp and 900 ft lbs of torque.
but with tax and the power kit installed ready to go it was 55 grand out the door. that's with employee pricing because we got connections with GM employees.

Plus GM is currently running their Employee Pricing deal again
