For Sale- 2002 3.2L CL Type S MOTOR
For Sale, one used 2002 3.2L CL Type S MOTOR. This motor is in Davie FL at the shop that did my dyno work. I'm told it had roughly 25000 miles on it when it came out of a wrecked 02 CL. It looks fine to me while I was crawling over it for the pics. He'd really like to move it as it's been sitting there for a couple years.
I also saw what looked like the the transmission laying next to the motor, don't know the state of that tranny, and we all know what a POS they are. I suppose it might be useful to someone if they are looking into a DR. EVIL tranny upgrade and wish to have a core to send. For you mods, I'm not saying it's for sale, just that it's there and the shop didn't say anything about it. If there's interest, I'll find out and post some more info.
The asking price is 2000.00 nego. Shipping is at your expense, expect a cross country ship to be upwards to 250.00 give or take a few.
PM me if interested.

I am going to make an exception to the rules for this one, since it might help someone in the forum and that's what we are here for.
I have no idea if that's a good price for this, but I am sure the people who might want one will know. So we'll let this thread run and see what happens.
Just to be clear, the asking price of $2,000 is for the engine, right? Do you have any idea of the price for the transmission?

Ron, no i don't know what he wants for the tranny, and yes, 2000.00 OBO for the motor only. If you'd like, remove the paragraph for the tranny part and over the next few days I'll ask some questions about it as I did not query him on the tranny at all, as I should have.
Again, 2000.00 OBO for the motor only, the tranny may become a bargaining chip with an offer.
It looks like a good unit upon visual inspection, and I'm sure he will come down on that price.
I only mentioned the tranny in case someone is in dire straights and needs one.
Thanks Ron and I'll check into it when they open on Monday.

CleanCL, I don't know if he'll break the motor apart, I'm inclined to think he won't, I'll try to get back to you on that later on.
As for the tranny, the transmission I saw is not for the CL. It could be a AV6 model, he is checking, so forget the tranny part of this deal.
To Ron-, thanks for the slide on the tranny; and in reference to whether the deal sounds like a good one, I beleive it is. A short block is 1350.00, and heads each are about 1100.00 each. close to 3500 before shipping and you'll still need gaskets, complete timing gear with timing belt, knock sensor, and several misc parts to complete the job. that's assuming you don't have those parts off an old motor. I see it as a great deal and in line with what you'd pay a scrap yard, possible less. Just my 2 cents.
