Anyone willing to trade 2K2-2K2 TLS for 2k3 Maxima 6Speed
I figured this is worth a try as someone here may be looking for a car that offers a manual tranny alternative to the TL.
A few months back I started looking for a used car.
My choices in order were: Acura TLs and Nissan Maxima.
I ended up buying a 2003 Maxima SE in sheer silver cause I found a fully loaded 6speed and I needed a car fast.
Its a fantastic car, really fast and has a rare 6speed tranny but now I keep seeing TL's and regret not buying one. I am located in northern NJ and would be willing to trade my Maxima and possibly some money for a 2002-2003TLS. I can assure you there is nothing wrong with the car and it runs great as Maximas normally are bullitproof (this is my third one).
This car is in fantastic shape with only a few chips on the front bumper.
The interior is flawless.
The car is also completely stock. I didnt do ANY modifications to it.
Has everyoption besides navigation.
Here are the specs:
2003 Nissan Maxima SE 25500 Miles
6-Speed Manual
HID Headlights
Climate Control
Black Leather
Power Seats
Power Moonroof
Bose 6 Disc indash CD player
Side Airbags
Memory seating
Meridian Edition
- Heated Seats
- Heated Wheel
Titanium Edition
- Dark Chrome 17" wheels
- Autodimming mirror with compass
- Titanium keyed center console
- Chrome door sills
Limited slip differential
Although this isnt my car this is exactly what it looks like minus the tint:

I think its a reasonable offer (assuming you pay some cash too), although you might be able to sell your Maxima locally and pickup a used TL-S with NAVI easier than you'd find someone who wants to trade.

Loving my 08 TLS!
I agree that your maxima is a fast car. But I am pretty sure everyone here chose a TL because it looks a whole lot better. Seriously, the rear of the maxima is hideous.

I hear you guys. I figured it wouldnt hurt to try. I would like to just sell it and buy a TL but what will most likely happen is; I will sell it and then I will have to go a period without a car and I may end up making a foolish decision because I will need a car sooner or later. I think im probably going to just keep my Maxima and be happy with it. I just see TL's and sometimes regret the decision I made.
Thanks for posting.

Trade my VSA for no traction/stability control system whatsoever.....it a climate where it snows and rains......hmmmm.....NO!
Pisses me off, Maxima is a nice car, but if you get a manual trans, traction control goes by-by. Come on Nissan, my 1995 Acura Legend Coupe 6-speed had traction control, you mean to tell me 10 years later you can't offer the same?

It may not have traction control but it has limited slip differential and I wouldnt trade that for traction control anyday. The traction my car gets in fantastic compared to my old 95 which was impossible to keep the wheels on the ground in first gear. Although this will not help me much in snow or rain, having excellent tires will.

Maxima 6 speed is faster than any TL-S, even if the TL-S has some bolt-ons. I say keep the Maxima and mod it. The VQ35 is an awesome engine, and the trans in the TL-S sucks anus.
