Yes, officially picked up the 40d!

Just picked up the 40d minutes ago on Amazon: $1,140.00 (with EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Standard Zoom Lens) & free 2 day shipping. I also picked up the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 last week as it was only $85 shipped. After ALOT of practice with these two lens', I will probably eventally get a nice ultra wide angle and zoom...

And I know I elluded to getting this in another thread, but finally pulled the trigger after passing up on some other so called "deals."

I really wanted a different lens, but if you break it down...the kit lens was only $230! Couldn't pass it up an IS lens for this cheap!

Paid $490 for the XT with kit lens. Almost 2 years of use, worth it.

WTF! That is a sick deal. I'm selling my kit lens this week for $250, but even after that, I still $240 below this deal! Damnit....

Sweet, they gonna honor the price!

http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...tCode=10006673

Keep an eye out if they get more in stock. They adjusted the price so its still $650!

I don't think most people will benefit much from 40D vs an Xsi, actually.
It's mostly ergonomic differences, which make it easier/quicker to set
things. But most people don't have the need to set things that quickly.

Biggest benefit actually is probably just the size of the grip, which could
even be a minus if you have small hands.

he is coming from an XT thou, imo going from an XT to a 40D is a big difference.

If i didn't move up the chain I would have stuck with my xti back then.

Only reason i got my nikon d80 was the xti was stolen from my car aka cursed unless i conviced myself at that time to get a 40d.

Right now xsi are look pretty nice for some of my friends. If their pretty crazy i tell em the d90 for some other goodies.
