wireless remote OR wired shutter release??

I am not sure which one I should pick up.

wireless remote has a 2 second delay, while the wire has it's length limitations...

I've always wanted a wireless remote myself, mostly so I can get more creative with self portraits and things like that. I just haven't gotten around to getting one yet, and the Canon version is pricey.

I didn't know they had a two second delay.

I've got a regular wired remote, a wireless (radio) remote, and a wired timer remote. The regular wired one isn't going to be used that much since the timer remote does the same job. I like the wireless for group shots when I want to be in the shot too.

I can't remember, what body do you have? The remotes are different for the rebels than they are for the xxD series bodies. If you have a rebel, get the infrared remote to start. I loved it when I had my rebel.

I have the xti, the choices are rc1, rc5, and rs-60e3. I can't decide between those three.

Dan, is the rc5 infrared?

I've never seen the RC-1 before, but the RC-5 is what I had before. It is infrared and works great.

The RS-60 is better for when you're doing long exposures because you can do bulb exposures. There are lots of clones on the market that work just as good as the RS-60, so you might want to check out ebay.

i have the RS-60
i really like it. Its great to use the bulb setting. I wanted to wireless remote but I couldn't justify the price.

Its also really cheap to by an extension for it.

I just read somewhere that the rd-5 works only with a delay, it's not an instant shot as with the rc-1. I'm I remembering wrong?

You actually want a delay, unless you want your hand pointing at the camera in every shot. It's meant for group shots, so two seconds is just enough time to trigger and put your hand back in position.

That's a good point, I didn't even know there was a difference in them until I saw that on FM. I bought a rc1 for my Elan 7.
