confirmed in the specs. Video wise, nothing changed.
its still an 8-bit camera, even outputting over HDMI.

more like.
Sony: We listen to our customers.
Customers: We want a7SIII
Sony: This is a7RIV

For sure. If Hasselblad or Phase One made this camera it would cost $30k. $3500 is a steal.

it's funny because when I had the Sony a900 (Sony's first FF dSLR from 2008), it was the first camera to be at 24MP, and people were saying that was redundant, then when Sony brought out the original a7R, it had 36MP and people said the same thing, then the a7RII came out with 42MP, and again... same thing
I'm not saying I'm going to get the IV, but it would all depend on the AF performance, if it's improved from the III and close to the a9 AF, I just might. The reason is mainly for birding photography for cropping purposes. Right now, when I go shoot birds, I bring both my a9 and a7RIII, I usually start off using the a9, the AF is amazing, but when I get frustrated because they are too far away, I'll try it with the a7RIII (because I have more MP to crop with), but as soon as I see misfocus shots, I go right back to the a9

this is a perfect example about cropping, I took this with my a7RIII, we did the photoshoot and I just didn't cared for the pose from the chest area down, it was a full body shot (him sitting on a stool), I cropped the heck out of it and still had like 7MP left, had this been taken with a 24MP, I would think I have very little left

I would love if they released a second model with the 24-70mm f1.8-2.8 lens like on the V/VA and retained the built in ND filters. (Or at least a thread for filters)
i much prefer that over the 24-200mm f2.8-4.5

Sony has 2 press conferences coming up.
September 5th at IFA
September 13th at IBC.
Rumors are pointing to an A9ii or A7Siii
Current rumors say the A9ii will be announced in 1-2 weeks and it will have a 33-36mp sensor.
The A7Siii could be announced at IBC since the A7Sii was announced at the 2015 IBC.
