Small Digital Camera Advice Needed

I am looking for a small Digital camera that fits in say my girlfriends purse. I've looked at a few and the FujiFilm Finepix Z3 looks pretty nice. I want something that takes good pictures and if possible takes good video. I'd also like to carry it with me in my pocket when I go racing. It would be nice to be able to take a few quick vids of cars on the track. I don't mind paying a bit more for a good quality camera, so if anyone has any recommendations or reviews of the Z3, please let me know. Thanks in advance!

The Z3 was released in 2003. Practically any other camera on the market would be a better choice.

Take a look at the Canon SD430 or SD450 if small size is the #1 priority.

Dan I did some quick research on Canon's. The SD series looks great. Is this a good model for the money?

I have the Canon SD400 and love it, it is small, and takes good pictures on the go.

The SD600 is a great cam, but B&H has it on for $299: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...ughType=search

For $40 more I'd probably get the SD630 with the 3" screen: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...ughType=search

Thanks for helping a camera noob! I am going to go and physically look at the SD630 at Circuit City and will show them that price. I am 100% sure it takes great still pictures, but how is the video quality? Anyone have experience taking videos?

Sounds good man, I highly recommend a hands-on test before you buy any camera equipment.

Steve's Digicams has a good review of the SD630 (including movie modes): http://www.steves-digicams.com/2006_reviews/sd630.html

I just bought my fiance a SD 630 for mothers day. It's a very nice camera and takes excellent pictures. Make sure you buy an extra NL-40 (i think) battery because there is no viewfinder and you don't wanna be SOL on long outings.

The camera fits in a very small case and she carries it in her purse.

A friend of mine just bought one yesterday and brought it over to show me. It's a sick little camera, that makes my Canon S500 feel and look huge. My wife's like "I want one of these now, our camera almost 2 years old!"
