Pictures from Maui
We went to Maui on our honeymoon last month and absolutely loved it! Our favorite part was our drive to Hana via the Hana Highway. I urge anyone going to Maui to put this on their list of must-dos. I used my Canon digital for all the pictures besides the snorkeling picts. Enjoy.
The Hyatt Regency on Kaanapali Beach
What a great hotel. By far the best pool area of any of the resorts/hotels on Kaanapali beach.

Watching the sunrise from on top of Haleakala Crater
Woke up at 1:45AM to drive across the island to make it to the top before the sunrise. The 40°F temps at the top for Arizona residents was quite shocking!

Snorkeling at Black Rock
I used a disposible Fuji underwater camera for these shots. Swimming along side the sea turtle was an amazing experience.

Old Lahina Luau
The traditional laua in Old Lahina. Very cool experience and great food.

The Road to Hana
52 miles, 60 some odd one lane bridges and 600+ curves. The stops along the way made it one of the most memorable experiences ever.

Black Sand Beach at Wainapanapa State Park
All I ever wanted to see in Hawaii was a black sand beach and I got my wish.

Seven Sacred Pools
We even got in and swam in one of the pools at the bottom. It was quite chilly but a very cool thing to do.

The Hana Highway past Hana
One of, if not the, craziest stetches of road I've ever driven. Most of it was one lane wide and unpaved. It was an adventure to say the least.

Mama's Fishhouse Restaurant
One of our favorite meals and an incredible location. Our last stop before heading to the airport for the long flight home.

Very nice shots and trip!
I haven't been since june of 07, but I love Maui. Definitely my favorite island. Looks like yall did good too and what you decided to do. Old Lahaina Luau, Road to Hana, Black Sand Beach, Haleakala, and such.
Mi padres have 2 weeks a year in the the Marriott Maui Ocean Club next to the Hyatt. I've always thought the Hyatt was a very nice hotel. We've eaten brunch there a few times. The only thing that stinks is each time we want to go down to Whalers Village. Not an unbearable walk or anything, but just enough to be annoying.
Looks like you had a good time!

My wife and I have already discussed going to Maui next time we go to Hawaii, and now I can use your post as reference for some of the highlights.

Nice shots and looks like a fantastic trip/honeymoon. And congrats on the marriage. My advice to you is to not lose your wedding ring.
My wife keeps watching this travel show that shows the sunrise at the crater and the bike ride down the volcano and bugs me about going each time.

Hmm, that's a new one, never got that comparison before. I'm usually told I look like Jerry O'connell. When I was in high school it was Marky Mark. Why can't I just look like ME???!
Incredible shots! I'm very jealous. I really need to go to Hawaii one day, it's a shame that I've never been.
But I can't stop looking at the pictures, they're really good. Congratulations one more time on your wedding and much happiness to you and your wife.

went to kona a few months ago... snorkling is pretty damn fun, but the sun was hidden by the marine layer by 2-3pm which sucked
looked like u had a blast... pictures make me miss hawaii...

nice pictures, i need to make it over to maui again sometime. Everytime I'm over there it is just for a days worth of work. Fly in in the morning, and fly out that night.
my coworker might be over there for like 6 months. Maybe I'll need to find a reason to spend some time over there as well
course there are still a LOT of places I've been meaning to go on Oahu

Great pics. I went there last year for my honeymoon and all I can say is that it was the best trip I've ever had. I recommend if any of you guys go, to stay at the Hamoa Bay Bungalow. Talk about an isolated tropical paradise. We stayed there for 3 days, and also stayed at the Hyatt for a night.
