Lightroom 4 or 5?

Which one would you recommend for a novice photographer? Would LR4 be sufficient or should I just get the latest?

Camera:

Nikon D3100
18-55 kit lens for now.

I`ve got lightroom 2.6. I have read that you have to buy 4 before you can use 5. That did not sound right. Also looking to upgrade.

Get 5. It has better straightening capabilities than 4.
