Lighting kit

My sister gave me a $200 Amazon gift card as a thank you for work I did at her house, and I figured I'd get myself a lighting kit since there is nothing else I need on amazon right now. I know the quality of these inexpensive kits are not anything like a pro kit, but I think they will be a valuable learning tool for me. My question is what to get? I am looking at a kit with a backdrop screen, and see they have kits with white, black, and green. Some kits have one, some have all. What is the preference? White for portraits? What is the green used for? Should I try to stick to a certain wattage bulbs or close to a certain wattage? I can throw some money on top of the $200, but am not looking to throw hundreds on top at this time.

I figured it might be, seeing as how green screen are so widely used for special effects and overlaying video on a different backdrop (such as the weather maps on a news report)

Caution - low cost strobes are safety problems.
Depends on your studio size but green background often cause a green
light cast reflected spill around your subject.
I use white or black and drop out with PhotoShop.
Green can be used but its more a thing of yesterday and the earlier PS versions.
Also black or white backgrounds stand more on there own
in advent you don't drop out and replace.
No one wants that weird funky green background as a standalone background.
