thanks - it was a midwest-inaugural "luxury lifestyle" event called Lux5. It had its inception in CA, I believe. I have some friends who had a booth there, that was pretty much the only reason I was there. In case you can't tell from the pics, it wasn't attended very well.

I was going to go, but damn, I didn't expect the attendance to be so low! Hopefully the promoters didn't lose too much money.

The upside is that it makes for better photo ops.

yeah, it was pretty disappointing. but not surprising - I mean, walking down Navy Pier to the show (it was almost at the end of the pier) I counted ZERO signs for it. Leaving, I saw ONE sign by the parking garage exit that said Lux5 luxury show or something. They should have lined the main walk with Lux5 banners or whatever pointing to the show, I think it would have helped. Also I really don't think it was promoted too well, in general. Btw the concept was started by the same people who did Hot Import Nights.

That NSX is Factor X's, NSX. It was on last month's modified mag, but went through some new changes and color scheme due to a new sponsor:

These events are a ton of fun, but they can be frustrating for photographers. I've found the biggest challenge is just one of access. I'd kill to get one of those blue vests and shoot from along the jersey barriers next to the track.

As it is, you just have to settle for the best you can get. Even with the 70-200, you end up doing a lot of cropping in post. The drags can make for spectacular photos, but you have to be in the right place.

For you gear heads, all shot with the 40D, 70-200 f/2.8 IS and EF-S 17-55 f/2.8.

Thanks for the kind words, drigo. If you get the chance, go to the Gator Nationals. You haven't fully lived until you've watched a Top Fuel Dragster sparked off. TV, pictures or words cannot prepare you for the violence and explosion of it all. It'll rattle your teeth. Good times.
