Help with transferring HI-8 video to computer

I have an old RCA HI-8 camcorder (Pro 942). To output any video, it only uses white and yellow (audio/video) cables that I connect to the TV or DVD player.

Of course my Dell E1505 laptop mainly uses USB ports only for input for the computer... no place to plug audio/video cables.

Is there a USB converter of some sort? I'd really like to try all of the Vista media features for some video editing.

Thanks in advance.

what i used to do was i had a TV tuner that supported video in, and then just use the software that came with the TV tuner to record.

I have a Canopus ADVC55 http://www.canopus.com/products/ADVC55/index.php

However, it requires FireWire, doesn't support USB.

How much video do you have to transfer?

Pending on the might. Lets say just only a few tapes. Might be more worth your while to pay a place to digitize it for you.
