Got a new camera

I've never had a camera of my own, unless you count the one on my phone... or one of those disposable ones. But got a nice 'intheritance' from my uncle because he knows I have an interest in photography.

He also is an avid photographer himself so he just upgraded his camera and gave me his Canon Rebel XT, which is at least a few years old. I still have a lot to learn about photography and I couldn't have even imagined a better camera to start with after reading reviews about it.

So far I have just taken pictures of my dog and some outdoorsy stuff but plan on going to the next Cars and Coffee and getting some sweet pics of nice cars there.

And eventually I hope to be entering one of the azine photo contests .

Congratulations! That was my first camera, and I, too, passed it on to a fellow enthusiast. Have fun, don't be afraid to experiment, and shoot, shoot, shoot!

And share the pics.

Congrats! Even at five years old, that is still a very capable camera...

Now if only we could say the same thing about the new owner.

I've taken some pics of things such as the snowstorm we got here and some car shows. I want to try to make some HDR photos. Recommend a good program for that? (Free if possible, or if it at least has a trial period).

The only program to use for HDR, Photomatix $99, they now have a lite version $39.

It is pretty simple as long as you go through the tutorials.

Literally the only program for HDR? Or in your opinion THE BEST program to use for HDR?
