It was a Good Weekend
It was a Good Weekend
It started with an idea and a trip to Lowes.
I found the pvc section and without any plans, but what was in my head, I began to buy up what parts I thought would work. This took 4 trips. I had previously bought some Ripstop at the fabric store and had my wife do some sewing w/ dowel rods. I put them together and found out PVC is heavier then I thought. This isn't the way to do a diffuser.....just the way I did it this weekend.

With this setup, I took a photo of my favorite, and as she so often reminds me, my only model...my daughter and her puppy. I'm real happy with the result of the lighting, but the size is probably too big (30x24). Sch. 40 isn't stiff enough for what I did.
This was taken with a new addition to the family, one I've been in desperate need of for awhile now. I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a new tripod....and am I happy about it

It was a good weekend for me and I thought I would share it

For a DIY that looks really good.
Suggestion...trying doubling up on the rip stop, OR pulling the light back another 2-3 feet. Try and soften it up a hair more.
If you want to play some more, go to michaels/hobby store and get some white bead board or some foamcore.
Set that up opposite the you key light. get a little added bounce fill...want to play some more cover the board in aluminum foil.

Good suggestions! I plan to play with this and maybe build another one. I was using our garage as my studio and it's hitting the 90s here already, so my "model" was getting grumpy ( she got that part down). I'll probably practice more on inanimate objects.
