Canon claimed 15 stops of DR with that, tests dont show that
Im not sure what the usable DR is on that camera...but I just operated a feature using them, and its impressive. I've always liked the C series EOS cameras, and the mkII is a huge step up to the original.

Yea, I hear that too about the C300.
Anyways Cinema5D ran a test and got closer to 12 stops. Canon responded to their tests with how canon tested themselves for 15 stops. Canons test method was similar to Cinema5Ds test but a bit different.
Anyways the conclusion was that since there's no standard way to test it, you can't trust all the test, but go by real world usage.

The Canon EOS M line of mirrorless cameras hasn’t been a big hit—at least not in the US of A—but Canon may do something big with it by the end of this year. We’re talking “full-frame mirrorless” big.
According to a new report by Canon Rumors, two EOS M models are in the works for the end of 2016 (possibly a Photokina release): a minor update to the EOS M3, and a 24MP full-frame model aimed at prosumers.
The news comes from two different sources, both of whom told CR about the size of the sensor and that the camera would take EF lenses.
CR’s sources didn’t reveal anything more than that, but if the rumor is true, Canon might finally be preparing to compete with Sony’s FE offerings.
The questions that come to mind now are: is it too little too late? and will they be able to compete with Sony’s years of experience in the FF mirrorless market? Let us know what you think in the comments.
If this is true and it can match or beat the low light performance and dynamic range of the Sony cameras, I'll sell my a7II and move right back into the Canon camp.
I do like that it'll accept EF lenses, no adapter needed.
With the reviews ive been reading about the 80D, I'm sure it'll get close in terms of DR.
80D doesn't come close to the A7II let alone the A7RII in terms of low ISO dynamic range or low light performance. More than likely this is a result of the full frame vs APS-C sensor but it's still a rather night and day difference between the two.
I've read that the dynamic range on the 1dx2 is pretty disappointing though.

Oh absolutely, it's far and away better than the previous revision which is awesome but it's still not there as good as the competition which is concerning for a product that was released after the competition in such a contested space.
You're right that it won't be as apparent in real world examples but they are so varied that it's hard to get good take aways from them. Studio is much more controlled so the real characteristics can be seen. It's all pixel peeping in the end, you can get great images from just about anything on the market these days.
Image via ShutterstockThe Canon 5D Mark IV officially-unofficially exists. The camera has not been announced, nor has the name been confirmed, but photographers are currently testing the camera ahead of an August or September announcement. Canon Rumors believes that the hardware isn’t set yet, but we can expect a camera that can shoot 4K internally and 1080p up to a staggering 120fps. The 4K capabilities aren’t set, but it is rumored to shoot 4K up to 60fps.I expect to hear something around late August or early September leading up to Photokina in Cologne, which takes place September 20-25. Hopefully that will get the camera on shelves in October. Rumored Specs:
ever possible to no post-processing of the adjustment dual pixel RAW file (bad translation)
“The way Dual Pixel works, 30MP DP sensor means a 60MP dual pixel raw file with a new RRGGGGBB pattern (vs RGGB), so potentially better dynamic range, and maybe an improved debayering algorithm.” Thanks Thomas
We now have confirmation from several different sources that the initial launch price for the EOS 5D Mark IV will be $3499 USD (in the USA) and $4299 CAD (in Canada). This is assuming no last-minute pricing changes by Canon, which are still possible. This pegs the EOS 5D Mark IV at the same launch price as the EOS 5D Mark III in 2012. Although the new camera is packed with a bunch of new technology (including 4K, WiFi, and GPS), it’s surprising that Canon didn’t go for a lower price point given all the competitive pressure from Nikon and Sony mirrorless. The announcement and pre-orders are imminent, with many sites reporting midnight on August 25th. The camera is expected to ship in early September. To get notified by e-mail when the items are announced and available for pre-order, please click on the blog link below.

That's a STEEP asking price for a camera that may or may not compete with the A7RII (which is more than a year old now) right out the gate. If this thing doesn't have a competitive high ISO performance and dynamic range...
Only saving grace that'll keep it going for now is the AF system and lens lineup but that's quickly changing too.

Yeah, agreed
I wish they would have priced it more aggressively.
More images of the Canon EOS M5 have appeared, along with more detailed specifications. We’ve added a few bits of information above and beyond the specification leak (in italics).
Sensor: 24.2 million pixel APS-C CMOS
AF: dual pixel CMOS AF
**Touch AF
More AF points than any other camera (We don’t know the exact number)
**Touch AF: You can select autofocus points with your thumb by touching the rear LCD while looking through the viewfinder. Apparently it’s a very cool feature when using the camera.
