Camera Newbie
My wife picked up a camera that her mom wasn't using & I've been thinking about giving it a shot to see how I can do with it.
I'm completely new to this & haven't used much more than a phone camera in a long time other than a point & shoot that I had 15 years ago that rarely shot outside of 'Auto'.
What I have so far:
Body:
Nikon D70S
20161024_211808.jpg
Lenses:
Nikkor 55-200
20161024_211800.jpg
Nikkor 18-70
20161024_211739.jpg
And a stand light like this one:
There may be a few other accessories that I didn't take a look at, like a few filters & a body-mounted flash.
Mostly looking at doing some indoor shooting for my wife's business, which would mostly be clothing on a white background, and may look into some automotive shooting for my own hobby.
Thanks for any tips or advise

In order to understand how the camera works, why you use certain settings. I suggest you get the Bryan Peterson's book "Understanding Exposure". Make sure you get the latest edition, as it talks about flash as well.

I have a basic understanding & read through the stickies on here as well. But thank you for the recommendation, I'll look into it.

now, its time to put it into practice!!
get out there and start shooting.
you cant start off with auto settings and see if you like the outcome.
then when you're comfortable with camera layout and buttons and stuff, you can dig into the the photos you took on automatic and study the EXIF info and what settings that made the pic great or not so great.
then experiment with settings if you get daring!

Ordered the book & a larger memory card. Both should be here Friday. Will try to do some shooting this weekend, now that I found the charger & got the batteries charged up.
