Another Question about lighting kinda different.

So I am taking pictures at some important guys huge house where he is having a dinner blah blah blah.

So since these pictures aren't for me and it is only a 2 hour gig just wanted to know what you guys think about the way I light my other photos. I like them because thats how I like my pictures and everyone else likes them but they might just be being nice. So here are some examples of how I shoot. I point my flash at the ceiling and let the light come down...

I'd say they look about as good as they are going to get using just available light and a bounced flash. Anything else, you'd need to lug along a lighting kit.

One thing you may try, but find not as useful as just bouncing, would be to use a Sto-Fen softbox on your flash, and then light it more directly. But it will most likely give the same result.

Good pics!

You definitely need a diffuser. The shadow on the first one is pretty distracting.

I have one of those and like to use it only problem is that when I use it I can't use the zoom because my camera automatically switches to manual zoom and won't go as far. but this should be close quarters tonight so around 8 I will post the pics I took today hopefully they come out good.

Here some are.
Weird thing is they look so much more vivid in raw form but when I convert them to jpeg they look almost chalky or dim?
