70-200F4 Test Shots

Finally got to use the new lens...

(Not sure what happened here, probably too slow Tv, but I kinda like the effect)

I think the effect ni #2 is technically called "Shaking camera with flash during exposure."

It's not hard at all to master. I seem to be a bit lost w/o IS....

especially when you get to the long end of the lens, but is the IS worth the additional money? I don't think I could afford one with it. I still need to get a flash lol.

Nice shots. That lens is sharp, isn't it?

BTW, I'll have to turn off IS and give that effect a try

I was considering this lens too, but ended up w/ a 55-250 for the size, plus I don't really use tele very often, so I didn't want to invest too much in a tele lens just to see if I would like it. the 70-200 f/4 is still one hell of a deal. I still kinda wish I gave it a shot, and know what it feels like to be shooting in public w/ a 'look at me' white lens.

I need to go find some ducks. Maybe tomorrow.

Nice. The lens looks to be tack sharp with excellent contrast. Camera shake is why the second shot is slightly blurred.

Congrats on the awesome new lens. You should have a ton of fun with it.

I tried that lens for a weekend, Overall I was not impressed with the sharpness and I found it kind of slow. For the money though it has a good enough qualities to be worthwhile.

Depends on how steady your hands are.

I'm not the steadiest shooter, so it's a godsend for me.

1/focal length should be the shutter speed to help prevent camera shake.

Alright, alright.... Just checked into my room at the Borgata in AC... Minimal PP, adjusted curves a bit, sharpened, VERY minor luminance/saturation ( I am learning less is more...).

Miz, you got it with the Tv, but I had the flash on and forgot to activate high speed sync, so I think I was around 1/60 most of the time, which at 100mm or more, makes me look like I have Parkinson's (biting my tongue...)

I was in Av mode, and it was kinda low light/evening...

Camera is a 40D. Somehow I lost the EXIF on these shots in the conversion....
