5200mm anyone?

Starting bid: US $55,000.00

http://cgi.ebay.com/Canon-5200mm-F14...QQcmdZViewItem

This is the only ultra-telephoto lens in the world capable of taking photographs of objects 18 to 32 miles away (30km to 52kms away).

so with a 1.6 crop it would be a 8320mm

That's not a lens.
That's a telescope.

I think I need a new tripod for that.

Wonder if Sigma will have a f12 version.

WAY overpriced. I'm not joking either. You could equip yourself with much finer optics from the astronomical world for the equivalent cost. Substantially less if you're willing to sacrifice a bit of focal length.
