It's in Bend, OR. Actually just down the street from my house. That is the Deschutes River with Mt. Jefferson (10,495'+) center. To the left of Jefferson is Black Butte and Mt Washington. You can also see Mt. hood (11,250') to the right between the trees.

Had I actually planned to shoot the partial eclipse I would have rented the sigma 150-600 and o
got an adapter.

As it was I went off the cuff with 50-140 (70-200) and I actually had plenty of filtration. So here's shot cropped in a fuck ton.

Didn't plan on shooting the eclipse. My area was only getting 82% in my area. The apex was blocked by clouds in my area, but got this peeking through. Clouds area great filter, non needed for this. About a 20A% crop.

Any tips on fixing the pixelated black sky? Looks fine on screen in LR. I was shooting at iso 1000 I believe.

Use a noise removal program for the black, then mask the sun back in.

Here's mine. We got about 74% coverage but it was cloudy as hell.

used my 70-200mm f2.8 on my APSC 1.5x crop NEX-6

It was pretty incredible, if you go there make sure you do a proper photo tour instead of the normal tour.

Also, FWIW:
What you think it looks like:

What it actually looks like:

Hahaha yup. I think I read an article on petapixel or fstoppers of someone documenting their experience.

also read the guides "help" you out by throwing sand around for long exposures and sun beams

Yup, they sure do. I don't care though, the results are phenomenal.

Fun fact, it is constantly falling though not to that degree. The recommend you do NOT change lenses inside the canyon and I walked out with sand in my nose and mouth after the tour. Had to wear my sunglasses inside to keep it out of my eyes too.
