I don't understand all of the surprise about a turbo Honda. They competed in both Cart and F1 with turbo's and got out when they went normally aspirated. We sell 2 Honda watercraft at work that are turbo charged 1200cc 4-strokes w/165 hp.

People were led to believe Honda was to green to ever produce a production car with a turbo...hence the VTEC introduction.

Actually, CART is still turbo charged and the IRL, where Honda supplies engines, is normally aspirated.

Dude...Cart runs engines supplied by Ford exclusively. I think there normally aspirated V-8's. I don't follow Cart that closely, anyone else clarify that?

No...They don't have one cuz all cars have Ford engines. I just went to the Cart site and there turbocharged V-8 Ford engines.

champ cars are turbo'd 8s..I was thinking of another race series that I can't remember the name of. Saw them at the california speedway before a CART race. they were like small scale champ cars and my uncle who is big into racing said they were all turbo'd 4s...anyone have any idea?

CART uses ford turbo charged engines. Honda isn't really in the IRL... it's a rebadged Illmor engine but they will eventually have an engine of there own.
