If you lease, apparently the FSD add on is included in the price of the car so you don't pay the whole $10k, so there's really no existence where this is a good deal.

Is there a fine print somewhere on the FSD contract that says you cannot sue Tesla or Elon if you die from an accident that is either caused FSD or if it fails to avoid the accident?

I'm not paying a dime until I can sit in the back and take a nap. If the subscription was like $50 I might try it for a month to see what's up but not for $200.

That is the truth and I absolutely agree with it. Tesla needs to ramp up their Berlin and Texas factories ASAP just to minimize that stranglehold.
Sadly this is true for Lucid too, just that Xi is replaced by even worse Mr. Bone Saw this time and he wants them to start manufacturing in Saudi.

Ok but seriously when is the competition going to arrive? You guys are worse than Elon with his "two weeks away" statements, I mean he eventually delivers though months behind, so far it's been over a decade and there's no real competition to the Model 3 and Model Y.

According to Car & Driver Tesla blowing away the competition in US sales, and according to what I posted earlier they're dominating in China sales too. Like the Taycan is available so is the ID.3, the ID.4, the Mach-E, the Etron, the i-Pace, the Polestar 2, etc.; Yumcha told me that these legacy auto cars would wipe out Tesla but Tesla is on pace to almost double their sales from last year, they've already almost matched it in 1H '21.

Guesstimates here:

Tesla = 13 years of nothing but ev r&d and production.

Everyone else = 3- 5 years of part time ev r&d and production.

Probably has something to do with the muskrat-mobile slaying the "legacy" makers when it comes to ev.

The thing that frustrates me as a Tesla owner is: even though Tesla is maybe a couple of years ahead in the battery game, they're about 2 decades behind in build quality and access to dealerships, body shops, and access to repairs.

So what does Elon do? Focus on making the car pretend to drive itself.

I don't have a youtube video or a twitter post to really verify this claim but the build quality and fit and finish improved substantially in the M3/MY refresh for 2021. I didn't find a single thing off on my car aside from the rear spoiler not stuck on completely which is pretty small. Also had pretty easy experience to get it quickly resolved shortly after delivery. No creaks, rattles, weird noises, etc. Soft touch materials everywhere, not just the obvious spots. Revised dash and door trim, etc.
