Enter the S1000, a front-engine/front-wheel-drive roadster with the look and feel of the S2000 and the driving character and value of the CRX. Unfortunately from what we learned, this car may not be marketed in the U.S. because of its diminutive size. The engine is reported to be a high-revving 1.0-liter inline-4 with 120 bhp. The car will weigh about 2000 lbs.

I wouldn't doubt honda making it fwd, but its lame that they would also.

why bother???? it cant be that much cheaper, can it?

 

It's exactly half our displacement (on a per cylinder basis). Imagine how much lighter things are in there when so small. Inertia is way less of a problem in there I am sure.

 

I think it would be kinda cool. If they up the hp a little I could see it as an alternative to the MR2 and the Miata. A Miata beater in the form of a high revving Honda? Fun stuff.
