Not much too look at but I guess they need to compete in this class too.

Looks like a previous gen CRV to me. And what's with the name? "X-Trail"? First off, the whole "X" thing is stupid and way over played and second...some people have entrails, but only Nissan has extrails!

This is a truck for other markets. The pictures are from South Africa. I'm guessing this competes with the Land Rover and Toyota Land Cruiser.

I highly doubt this is coming here. It's definitely an old outdated model as you can see from the interior

Nissan presented the updated X-Trail 2026, the latest evolution of one of Europe's most recognised electrified family SUVs. For 25 years, X-Trail has been synonymous with rugged capability, confidence and dependable family adventures across every kind of terrain. This model year update for spring 2026 strengthens its core character with a more assertive look, enhanced onboard comfort and greater connected technology that supports confident driving every day.

As an established icon within Nissan's electrified range, the updated X-Trail elevates a well-loved formula while bringing new energy and greater functionality for modern family explorers.

Cliodhna Lyons, Region Vice President, Product, Services & Marketing Strategy, Nissan Africa, Middle East, India, Europe & Oceania (AMIEO) said, "Over 25 years of X-Trail, our customers have come to love its sense of adventure, practicality, and advanced all-wheel-drive powertrains. The new X-Trail delivers even more of these qualities, bringing stronger design character, smarter technology, and the confidence of Nissan's unique e-POWER technology."

ELEVATED & RUGGED EXTERIOR DESIGN

The 2026 updated model delivers a sturdier, more prominent exterior identity while preserving the model's signature rugged capability. A redesigned front fascia features a wider, cleaner V-Motion grille that gives Nissan X-Trail greater visual presence and a more modern expression of Nissan's design DNA. 19-inch diamond cut alloy wheels with new glossy black lower bumpers and wheel arches, side sills and black side mirrors strengthen its character. The refreshed front grille and side vents flanked by recontoured lower bumpers and increased bodycolour coverage at the rear, deliver a more modern look.

New full rear LED lamps sharpen the signature lighting, with two new exterior colours, Universal Blue and Baja Storm, both available in two-tone configurations.

UPGRADED INTERIOR COMFORT

The Nissan X-Trail's interior cabin elevates comfort and quality while staying true to its durable, adventurous nature. New materials bring warmth and craftsmanship, including chestnut brown premium quilted leather upholstery, a refined brown wood console trim, and a high-quality synthetic leather option. Subtle updates across the cabin enhance harmony and convenience without compromising the car's rugged personality.

Across the range, comfort-enhancing features include heated front and rear seats, a heated steering wheel, three zone air conditioning, 12.3-inch infotainment screen and enhanced trims. A sliding 40/20/40 second row adds flexible space for passengers or larger gear, while optional equipment such as a BOSE 10 speaker premium audio system, heated windscreen and towing hitch receiver increase practicality for adventurous lifestyles.

NissanConnect with Google built-in

The latest NissanConnect infotainment system now introduces Google built-in for the first time on X-Trail, bringing an intuitive, handsfree experience to the cabin. Drivers gain access to Google Assistant voice commands/functions, Play Store app downloads, weather updates, and full over-the-air update capability; all without needing to reach for their phone.

Google Assistant allows the driver to use their voice for hands-free help on the go. Drivers can say "hey Google" to control the vehicle's ventilation system, heated seats and windscreen or to navigate to their next destination. Drivers can also make phone calls and listen to audio instructions without taking their eyes off the road.

3D Around View Monitor

The updated 3D 8-point Around View Monitor system now uses wide-angle exterior cameras which gives the driver a new 360° 3D viewing mode around the vehicle at low speeds, invisible hood, and T-Junction view. When parking or navigating tight spaces, the system projects a high-definition bird's eye view onto the central display, allowing drivers to position the vehicle with greater ease and confidence.

A new 360° 3D viewing mode lets drivers select from eight different camera angles around the car including front, rear, each side and the four corners, making it easier to identify unseen hazards that mirrors or a single camera might miss. The system works in harmony with moving object detection, which alerts the driver if it senses motion close to the vehicle during slow-speed maneuvers.

Two specialized views enhance visibility in the most challenging environments. Invisible Hood View uses front camera imaging and predictive processing to show the placement of the front wheels as though the bonnet were transparent. Ideal for avoiding curbs, rocks or tight edges on uneven paths.

Meanwhile, T-Junction View offers a wide forward perspective at low speeds, improving confidence when emerging from concealed exits or intersections with limited visibility. Together, these features help protect the vehicle from everyday scrapes while supporting a more relaxed and precise driving experience.

Improved ProPILOT Assist

ProPILOT Assist enhancements deliver smoother reactions, more stable lane keeping and better environmental awareness. Updates include anticipated speed sign recognition, more accurate traffic sign detection, undertake prevention, smoother braking and acceleration with more stable lane keeping, especially in narrow lanes and more natural braking and acceleration.

ELECTRIFIED POWERTRAIN

Nissan X-Trail 2026 continues to be offered with e-POWER, Nissan's unique hybrid solution, available on Qashqai and X-Trail and already trusted by more than 285,000 customers across Europe.

e-POWER delivers full electric motor drive for instant torque, smooth acceleration, and EV-like quietness without the need for charging. Paired with e-4ORCE all-wheel control, X-Trail enjoys exceptional grip, stability, confidence, and comfort across varying road conditions.

UPGRADED N-TREK GRADE

For customers whose idea of a perfect weekend is gearing up for mountain biking trails, skiing trips, or logging in their latest outdoor challenge, the updated N-Trek grade returns with a bolder, more adventurous personality. It has a tougher stance, bespoke detailing and materials chosen for harsher, more frequent use.

For the first time, N-Trek styling features striking 'magma red' customised details on bumper inserts, contrast interior stitching, black-and- 'magma red' Nissan logos on wheels, rear, front grille, and steering wheel. Exclusive N-Trek emblems further reinforce its distinct identity, while a subtle 'magma red' Mount Fuji easter egg on the trunk.

It's complemented by full LED lamps, 19-inch N-Trek alloy wheels, black roof rails, and robust lower bumper surfaces emphasising its rugged design. The new electric panoramic sunroof floods the cabin with natural light, creating a brighter, more open cabin feel to every adventure.

Crafted with CellCloth® waterproof upholstery, the interior seats use uniquely engineered material that repels water and stays dry to touch, keeping the cabin protected from muddy boots, wet jackets, and adventure gear.

Practicality extends to the trunk with rubber waterproof mats and a reversible cargo liner, built to endure everyday family adventures. With its tougher visual identity, protective materials and newly added electric panoramic sunroof, the 2026 N-Trek is the boldest and most adventurous X-Trail to date.
