Yea, but I don't know how I feel about the nav screen and its orientation to the A/C vents.

Agreed, looks great in black. Makes the headlights flow/blend a bit better.

Well, the LFA's interior is not exactly pretty or luxury-car like. It has more of a "scientific" kind of look - that's the best way I can explain it.

I just think it's very cool that they trickled down those cues from their mega-flagship into this car.

Your taste is suspect not just for the obvious reason that you bought a TL but also because you would post a picture with your thumb visible in it. Low standards across the board.

I really like this interior design...my biggest gripe my be the steering wheel.

But I love the dash layout...its minimalistic, industrial almost...very modern nouveau.

Almost like an interior B&O might design. I feel its a German interior, that the German's forgot to make.

^^ All the new Lexus interior designs have strong German styling cues.

...and that's a very good thing.

Lexus former interior designs were nothing to write home about.

They were nice...but they were japanese. This new gen is WOW and very defining.

I'd say the first decade or so of Lexus...the interiors weren't really distinguishable from, say, Acura in terms of design and materials.

The article with the designer is a great read...Lexus wanted to make the car fun to drive and started at square one trying to define what is fun to drive.

Lexus finally looking to expand their market place and attract a younger market.

I say Kudo's to reinventing, improving, and refining.....its better than stagnating.

The front is an over-styled disaster. Rest of the car looks very nice though.

See to me it looks unfinished or the person in charge had little imagination or artistic ability. Things dont flow well.

design wise aside, i spent some extended time in a new rx suv and i thought the interior was shit to the touch

outside of the nav interface everything felt camry-esque

I hope they dont give the interior of the new IS a similar treatment

So does that mean only Sea Captains and Fisherman buy/lease Infiniti's....because Infiniti designs machines that are sea creatures on wheels?

Definitely see a wide cast of characters behind the wheel of these cars. It's kind of like the McSportSedan that appeals to damn near everybody and their mother.

It's got too many doors is the other problem. I wonder what a proper 2-door version would look like. 4 door = sensible shoes crowd. Coupe = keepin it player.

Meh I'll take both. As bulbous as the QX is, it's a sturdy and safe rig with decent MPG for a truck that size.

Dammit Lexus, you ruined the best looking car in your lineup! Wtf is that?? I agree that the interior is absolutely fantastic but the front and back of the new IS is catastrophically hideous! How can they make the GS look so good and the IS look like such a failboat? Would've been far happier if they'd have just kept the exterior of the old car and slapped that interior in it...

Looks better in black, IMO.
I wasn't feeling it as much seeing it in white.

However, the dash and center console sections seem 'disjointed' (for lack of a better word).

So it looks like they're undercutting a loaded 335i vs loaded IS 350 RWD by almost 10k. If only it wasn't so ugly.

On topic, the Lexus IS F-Sport beat the BMW 335i (and ATS) in a C&D comparo. I'm sure there were a lot of high-fives going around Lexus dealers when they learned about this. I don't think a Lexus has ever beaten a BMW 3-series before, especially not thanks to its fun-to-drive factor.

Yeah, a lot of people are disappointed with the new 3 Series steering feel. Hope they fix it soon or they're going to continue losing.

+1 I've had a couple of F30 loaner cars and I am not impressed. Granted, these weren't exactly top of the line versions, but the "special" quality of the previous generation of 3-series just seemed to be lacking.
