The aluminum doesn't seem to have that shine in the pics like the aluminum in the TL...makes me wonder if it's plastic? If it is, that's a poor mistake. A car this price should use real stuff.

Will that wide & plain aluminum in M be able to keep dent free?

I think the interior is the best Nissan has ever made. Either wood or Aluminum it's gorgous. THe exterior, they just keep touching it up. The front looks like a SUV to me now and we know about the rear.
Still a good looking car. I think it will do well. Though anything can do better though than the current Q/M45s...

I got to look at pics of the RL, I forgot what it looks like.
I will say FM based+V-8=de-fucking-licious.

you're kidding me, right??
the M interior looks NOTHING like the TL interior
the only commonalities are
1: big freakin screen in the center top
2: aluminum is a main material in the interior selection
that's it...and considering nearly every luxury car made today has both of those characteristics....your claim has no basis
it's a gorgeous interior, especially if you look at it with lighter colors/wood inlays as you can on Infiniti's website
and the clock is just classy, period
exterior i'm not sold on, but i congratulate nissan/infiniti for not making boring cars, seeing as how most manufacturers do

ok phile.....if that's your opinion, then that FURTHERS my argument that the M interior looks nothing like the TL interior....thank you
and your statement that aluminum should only be used as "trimming" is kinda silly and very opinionated
perhaps you should have said "aluminum is used in the TL the way i like it and the way i think it should be used - as trimming"
me, i think that using aluminum as a central theme/material is very attractive
my dad's FX has a lot of aluminum in the center console, it looks very sporty, modern and clean
we all have opinions, but be sure to express them in that form - as opinions - rather than trying to convey a fact, when that's not what you're doing
i'm a TL owner, and i love my car, but some of you acura/TL fanboys are killing me
the fact is infiniti is making some damn good cars, and uniquely styled at that
acura, with the latest TL and the new RL, is on the same road as well....my hats off to both companies
give respect where respect is due......and enjoy this age of automobiles, because it's getting better and better guys

Kinda extraneous to let it be known that something is the way I think it should be when I am actually posting it...don't you think? I'm not an authority on this matter, I don't know why anyone would assume that it is, let alone requiring me to post that it's simply my opinion.
Semantics aside, I am not arguing with you in terms of the M's interior resembling the TL's - what I disagree with is that you say the aluminum on the TL and the M is a main material selection.

"it's used the way it's supposed to be used, as trimming"
the way you phrased it, it just seems presumptuous, and as if you are claiming your opinion is fact, which it isn't
either way, my bad for being anal....i just get that way when people act like what they say is an absolute....we all have different opinions, just because one of us likes something, doesn't mean NOT LIKING it is wrong.....that's all
anyway...no hard feelings bro, we're all car nuts
and i agree, aluminum isn't a MAIN material in the TL's interior.....i guess it just seems prominent because of the nature of aluminum - to me it's the most noticeable material used
however it is a main material in the new M - which i like - but you pointing that difference out actually supports my statement that the 2 cars have vastly different interior designs
somehow Jogan thinks that the new M copies the TL's design....which i find hard to support, so thanks for the support...haha

Anyone who can't at the very least admit that the M35/45 interior appears to be high quality and a huge step up from Nissan/Infiniti interiors of the past is either blind or biased.
Aside from the tail lights and orange illumination, I love the new M.

WTF are you talking about? Its not a big step up from the current m45 interior. Have a look.

phile is right....infiniti as a company is moving towards sporting machines - hence going RWD/AWD in all their cars, using the same Front-Midship platform for better weight distribution in several models, as well as the VQ engine, rated by Ward's as one of the 10 best engines IN THE WORLD for like 9 years in a row
the company is going sporty, hence the more liberal use of aluminum in interiors - witness the new G, the new M, and the FX
i think jwaters was more comparing interiors from the previous generation cars, like the old Q, the old I as well as the first gen G - it's clear that the new M interior not only uses materials other than plastic more liberally (meaning more aluminum/wood/chrome), but also that the plastics are of higher quality - just check out the texture pattern and the "shine" on the first gen M, compared to the muted tone and texture of the new M.....it's pretty clear that the materials are of higher quality, as jwaters said
if you can't see that the new M is much higher quality than the first M, then you don't know much about interiors or material quality
now which style you like is a matter of choice....like i said before, phile hit it on the head, infiniti is moving in a different direction....whether you like it or not is up to you
however, i'd argue that the 'style' of the new M, FX, and new G, is much in the same vein as the 3rd gen TL.....sporty and agressive - the way the 2 companies convey that style is quite different, but the effect is similar

PS, that pic of the M45's interior isn't too convincing...so here's a better one, with the maple wood interior.

I luv those lights. Japan's just now getting the Murano? The resemblence at in the face of the Fuga/M and Murano is stronger that I realized. The stance of the M gives it a great presence... can't wait to see one in person.

The taillights arent the best looking in the world, but i do have to say that the interior is very well done. Also, there isnt anything wrong with the list. Infiniti made it a point to always have an analog clock in their cars. Its their trademark for the interior. I think it gives it more of a luxury feel

yea...if that's a boring interior, i'd LOVE to see something that's not boring, i mean give me a break
it's very dynamic, aggressive and unique, i don't see a boring surface in there
like Fusion said, infiniti has an analog clock in all their models....you should pay attention, it's a trademark, and frankly, it's a classy one at that
and if the new M doesn't look like a 45,000 car, then the RL sure as hell doesn't either
there are no elements on the new M reminiscent of an Altima
i'm not sure if it'll outsell the new RL or not, but it will hold its own, especially when it comes to performance
