None of those look alike at all.
The nissan teanna is what the i35 was to the us market. Its only natural that the teanna, skyline, and fuga would share styling cues, they are all part of nissans upscale car brand in japan.

The new GS is a safe, predictible evolution of the current car, with no surprises. Infiniti wants to own this class, and Ghosen has the balls to do what's necessary to succeed. As for the competition, we know this new chassis is extremely more rigid than then already tight FM from which it's based, and it can probably handle alot more power than whats produced in from the current V8, let alone the V6. So I don't think the M's new competiton brethern (GS, RL, STS) will not be a problem. I look forward to the comparos, though. And it's going to give BMW, Audi, and Mercedes some sleepless nights. We already know power won't be an issue with the V6 coming with atleast 300 (new RL has 300hp, and Infiniti wants to be the HP leader in ever class it competes in), and the V8 is alread class leading (though they should up it by 35hp in a premptive strike). Hopefully they won't screw up the ratios in the 5sp (really should be atleast 6) to give it the proper acceleration off the line that it's HP and torque numbers suggest. That's what they did with the intro of the latest Q, and that certainly didn't help sales. As far as wood being on the doors, who gives a fuck? Everyone puts wood on there doors. That's really nitpicking.
1. Sharing your engine with every product in Nissans lineup is not very luxurious(M35).
2. Sharing a stretched platfrom from the G35 which is the 350Z does equate to great stock handling but jeez, to share my parts with a 25k car, not exactly luxurious.
I noticed the website said 340hp+. So maybe 350hp. I hope it actually goes faster than the competition.

If anything, nissan as a company is very smart being able to use the same engines or platforms in their models. It saves money them alot of money and it is very efficient. And how exactly does having similar engines or platforms define luxury? Maybe you would prefer that the q45 platform be minimized to fit for the g35 platform. Would that satisfy your want for a more expensive platform to be in a less expensive car. Geez

and most people dont even realize that they are sharing the same engine, and it only means your getting better service because techs only need to know 2 engines

1. I'll agree that the concept of sharing engines like that may not be very luxurious, but the HP/Tourqe differences between the M35 (atleast 300HP, I'm betting), and the Altima (245HP), is enough of a gulf to justify it's use in both cars. Plus, the VQ is an flexible, award winning V6. Why not use it? The answer is because the consumer wouldn't accept it; fortunately for Nissan/Infiniti, the consumer's fine with it. When Nissan was in financial trouble, it was necessary to share the engine. The good thing is, with the added power in the Infiniti line, people simply don't seem to care.
2. The same thing about the engine goes for the platform. First, the platform the M is sitting on is a much improved derivative of the excellent FM, with it's own designation (forgot what it was). Now, you've got the G, M, and FX sitting on that architecture for Infiniti, with the 350Z being the only Nissan branded product using it. So I consider it Infiniti's, really, since it will be the only division to use it in the furture, besides the Z; the Z just happening to come out first is of no consequence. So, not including trucks, Nissan/Infiniti and Toyota/Lexus both share one platform respectively between it's common and Lux brands (Z/Infiniti FMs and Camry/ES300). What's wrong with that? Both the Camry and ES330 sell like hot cakes, so Toyota certainly isn't going to stop making it, lol.
I notice that 340hp+ on the site too. I think just 350hp is for the birds... Infiniti should (and hopefully will) come with atleast 375hp for it's base V8 and really make a statement that they will remain ahead of the competition on the hp front.

I think that expecting 375hp out of the N/A base V8 is asking a bit much... not impossible, but I deem it impractical. Also, if they were anywhere close to that much, they'd be using a higher advertisement figure than "340+" hp. Not only that, it would set the bar quite high for their next Q... I'm guessing it'll come standard as the Q45, utilizing the same engine as the M45, and then have a step-up model... a la 745/760 or S500/S600, except with efforts being made to undercut those models severely. Maybe we'll see a Q56?
I see your point. When I said 375HP, I meant in my dreams, lol. I think it's possible witht the VK, though, with it bored and stroked. But I do think that the V8 can produce 355-365HP as it is with a little tweaking, which would be great. And ofcourse, that would be the standard engine in the next gen Q. As for the 745/60 and the S500/600, we're talking V8s with V12 step-ups. Instead of a Q56, how about slapping on a few more cylinders to the V8 for a V12?! Q60 maybe (also in my dreams)??? The QX56's engine is really made for truck duty, unlinke the high feature VK, so I'd much rather see Infiniti come with V12. Lexus will have on with the with the next LS, and with Caddy it's only a matter of time.

Why didn't they use the CIMA 05' Interior? THe tan colored one we fell in love with a year ago? Was it too good to be true? OR did Nissan have a problem delivering on first class interior plus performance and reliability and cost control?

I have to personally check it out if possible. Pics look right and pretty, but as I remembered, I don't like its center console, the front and the tail. M doesn't carry over too many good characters from Fuga.
Fuga ain't M, they are not equal. Fuga is more concept-like vehicle. Thanks for photo, 2004TL.
But first one is M45 Concept. The 2nd and 3rd ones are Fuga Concept.

Fuga was a rough sketch as most pre-production auto show models are, first seen at the Tokyo Auto show. THen last year they had a working, close to production version, at the NYC Auto show, and the pix that we see here (top) are of the actual product that will be for sale to public. We all know that the concepts are pretty futuristic, as i recal on the concept TL model at the 2002 NYC auto show it had get windshield cleaners, which never made it into production. All in all the M looks hawt, lets not forget that it shares G'z FM platform, its a totally different car compared to the last M, btw the new G 6speed coupe will have 18 more hourses than last year, final figure 298.

Hot damn! Infiniti's released the more of the M's official production pics in Exclusives section (12 in all). Forgive my ignorance in posting links, because I don't know how. If anyone wants to check them out, or link them here, the password is "imagine" once you get to the M's page on Infinit's site. I'm happy they stayed so true to the concept, both interior and exterior wise. And they didn't fuck with the quad tailpipes and round LEDs! I luv this car.

Infiniti Previews Next M -- Source: The Car COnnection
Infiniti's already told the world that the next M sedan would look a lot like the Fuga concept that made the rounds of the world's auto shows this year. Now the M's broken cover and - no surprise - it looks a lot like the Fuga concept. These photos are the first official ones released by Nissan. Nissan also issued minimal information with the pictures, indicated that as expected, the M will go on sale next spring as a 2006 model, with a choice of V-6 or V-8 engines. The interior of the new vehicle seats five, Nissan says, with luxurious aluminum or wood trim, leather, and an optional DVD navigation system.

Exterior looks awesome.
Interior looks great..... except for that Navigation toggle way up on top of the center dash, along with all of those buttons there. That seems like a very awkward place to be reaching, especially while driving.
