Post Indian automaker to produce $2,000 car

Hondasingh Type Curry?

Well, it was only a matter of time with India.

=============

http://www.leftlanenews.com/2006/05/...duce-2000-car/

India’s Tata Motors confirmed Thursday it plans to set up a plant in the West Bengal state to manufacture a family car that will cost little more than $2,000, reports the Associated Press. In October 2005, reports first surfaced that the carmaker was planning such a car. Tata currently exports a $10,000 car to Europe, but does not currently import to North America. With Chinese cars expected to arrive on U.S. shores in 2008, it’s conceivable that India may want a piece of the ultra-low-cost pie here, too.

but yea, the cost of cars in india is really low - in comparison...wit the conditions there (i.e. roads, constant brake n go, and crazy drivers in general, lol) they actually hold up pretty well for such a low cost.

I guess when you hear the joke about the horse going into the bar and asking the bartender for a beer, you say, "But horses can't talk!"

It's a freakin' joke, ignorant newb.
