It sucks when I want to print something out for someone to read but you never provide the link to the actual article.

Thanks.

I won't even get into the fact of how shady/lame it is to post an entire article and not credit the source with a link to it, let alone to do it all the time.

The reason I want to see the original piece is that most news sites off a text-only or printer-friendly version of the page to print out while keeping the proper format. And I don't want to print out all the silly ACL stuff around the article - the usernames/profiles/etc, and all the rest.

The question should be is there some reason he purposely DOESN'T quote his sources? Because most forums will require you to link to the source of any news item you post for verification and for easier printing like my goal is.

I guess when I earned by BA in it.

Anyway, I remember bringing this up when gavrill started his posts in Car Talk, gee, over a year ago now. Apparently he still doesn't want to cite sources or allow people to read the original article.

Most of my sources are super credible and the rest are mostly credible. What's the problem? Are you guys checking on me? What the hell?

I always give credit to the WRITER of all articles when mentioned in the source. To give you the source does nothing to add credibility...

If you can prove to me that there are more than 10% of my articles that dont give credit to the writer, then I will start putting links.

Include in that the fact that one can right-click on the photos to get the source as well. Go ahead. I chanllenge you...

Highlight text -> File-Print -> choose 'selection'

That's very printer friendly.

you newbie....

first off... at the bottom of every post there is a `PRINTER FRIENDLY` link.

second... in any modern web browser... you can select the portions you want to print...

such as the article and the photos and then click `print selection`

third... it is common practice to COPY articles. he usually includes the source in the article where it says `by` or `source`

posting a link IS NOT common practice... as it drives traffic away from your site.

99% of the internet is portals with copied articles. thats the whole idea behind the AP.

Jrock, we dont want to link people away.

seems like a step backwards for this forum no?

Gavrill, please continue to give us all the automotive news, without the links.

LOTS of my friends use this forum for news, none of which own CL's.

Adam posted directions on how to print.

Lets close this and make room for some automotive news

btw, Gav, hurry and get some FIRM info on the next gen RS4 its killin me already.

And dont forget the lengths I go to now overcome the popular FORBID OF PHOTO REDIRECTING that most good sites have implemented. LIke Kak. So I go and have to download each pic (there are threads with 80+ pics), then upload to a hosted environment with FTP, then come in here and paste the links of EACH pic.

And that's the thanks I get...
