Yikes. Not sure what happened there. Let me re-word that:

OMG....It still it needs to beat the new Pagani. A car which will be tough to beat. And the new Pagani is on top of the Top Gear track time list.

The Pagani is too exotic and not a direct competitor in the market for Ferrari: too small numbers.
The only really concurrent at the moment is the McLaren with the P1.
Ferrari 458 Italia vs Mclaren MP4-12C
Ferrari F150 (or LaFerrari ) vs McLaren P1.

Quote: Here's hoping they make a 1/18 diecast model soon.
You better hope that someone(Kyosho) will pick up a sub-license from Mattel, because Mattel's hotwheel elite line is godawful. Inaccuracies are all over the places like huge doglegs inside the engine bay, tiny brakes, wrong size wheels...you name it.

OMG. This is the hottest car in the world.

I like both the P1 and the Huayra, but the P1 looks strange and the Huayra looks like it has a gaping mouth and antennas, but this, there's really nothing you can point out. Ok, just ONE tiny thing... the rear view mirrors stick out a little too much. Just a tiny bit. But I'm willing to overlook that.

This is just amazing. I expected it to be somewhat disappointing like the Enzo, I prepared myself to read about how "the aerodynamics dictated the shape [and that's why it's ugly]", but I never imagined it could look so amazing... It's like a kid drew the best-looking car he could possibly imagine without any regard for physics or engineering reality, and yet that's what they ended up with.

Yeah, I hear you. And here's hoping Kyosho is licensed to make a diecast model.

Maybe one of the more stunning thing about this car is the power per weight:
1255kg for 950 hp means 757 hp per ton... it's unbelievable.
For comparison the Mac P1 gets "only" 647 hp per ton...

The name of Ferrari’s new flagship has been under question for sometime. Many expected it to be called the F70, and then it was rumored to be the F150 (highly amusing for us in America). The name LaFerrari however, is even worse — hearkening back to the Dodge La Femme of 1956 — but this is Ferrari. It can, and will, do whatever it likes.

F150 would have been effing hilarious...just realized it's a hybrid.

Also, in French (and probably Italian) "La" would be IT, or THE. Like, THE Ferrari. Meaning they're trying to separate this car from all the other cars prior so you know it's a different beast. I like the name.

Not probably: it is so. In italian LA is like saying: not one of, but THE ultimate one, the best of the best.
Montezemolo explained yesterday: we called it LAFerrari, because we consider this car the pinnacle of 50 years experience in building our sport cars: what the Ferrari brand means.

I hope I get to see one of these in my lifetime.

It's incredible to look back at like, the F40 from 1987 and then one of these in 2013. Absolutely stunning how far 26 years have come.

considering how little progress you've made in the 19 years since your brand was released?
